If suckers keep on paying 3 euro for a coffee they will keep on opening as the profit margin is huge. Now that the economy is improving expect to see more smug coffee drinkers walking around with their overpriced hot water going oh la la im so cosmopolitan me.

I'm by no means a huge coffee fan.

I'd have the odd one now and again and it is enjoyable, huge tea man myself :p

I've been to Starbucks a few times, mainly because friends would suggest there etc.

Don't see the appeal at all. Fair enough if you love their coffee and go there to enjoy it.

But I get the impression that many, many people who go to Starbucks couldn't give a boll''ks about coffee.

There's much better coffee out there, and cheaper too. This is people paying for an image and a brand, to walk around posing with a green cup.

For example, back in my college days, the canteen was selling their own coffee and also Starbucks brand coffee.

Here's the following notice : Attention students, only Starbucks coffee can be served in Starbucks cups, please do not request a Starbucks cup when ordering regular coffee.

If you like Starbucks coffee thats fine, but when people want to save a few pennies and steal a starbucks cup to put "regular" coffee into, well thats just being a bell.

It is (for some people) about making a duckface while holding a green cup and posting it on Instagram or walking with it on the way to work, having the logo shining out like a torch in front of you as if you're the sh!t. I don't get it

Its worked well for them though so fair play :D

    Absolutely...

Me :- Large Black Coffee please

Them :- Do you want a Tall or a Venti Americano?

Me :- Large , Black, Coffee Please...

Them :- So , A Venti Americano then?

Me :- Large, Black, Coffee please.

I mean - Look at this crap....

    Seriously?

Can I have a "Decaf, Double, Grande, 2 pump Vanilla, Non-Fat, Extra Hot, Latte please?"

No - F*** off , here's a cup of black coffee , the milk is over there if you feel the need , but you really shouldn't..it ruins the taste...

Is that 20oz with one espresso in it?

Because you can't expect someone to walk across the street to get to one

There are a lot of Starbucks in Dublin I like going there if there is one nearby but I prefer Costa though their coffees are a bit stronger. I like The other branded coffee places too. First time I ever set foot in Starbucks was in fact in New York after that was in Scotland. Then Dublin/Kildare.
