I don't get the apple hate. Their products are far superior than all the other brands out there.

    Price....
    Indeed.

Buy Samsung components, put in shiny case, sell for a premium.

    Nice little earner for Apple.

Can't think of any brands I'd really judge someone for, not something I'd notice tbh. I don't understand the Apple hate.

An Apple iPhone uses the same parts and chips as a Samsung Galaxy? As in Samsung do all the donkey work for them?

    Seriously? :pac:

Or they don't want to rip the arse hole off themselves or end up with a finger going through the paper and ending up some place most unpleasant?

I now have a possible advertising slogan for when I launch my new brand

"Buy KOH toilet paper today! It won't rip the arse hole off you, or have your finger going through the paper and somewhere unpleasant. Available now in a store near you"

Performance, looks, durability etc. I haven't used a PC since high school.
I have never had a virus or a crash since I made the switch. I once dropped my mac book down a flight of stairs(I'm clumsy) and the thing still worked! It still does. I bought a new one because of the dent

Samsung make the screens for apple anyway. Not sure of the smaller parts as I know some are made elsewhere for them.

No Samsung make some of the components for iPhones they are not the same parts and chips at all as may of them are made just for apple and the processer in the phone is made by apple AFAIK. Also the construction quality is 100s of times better in apple products.

I'm a fan of Apple gear, but am an Android user.

What I don't understand is why people insist on shelling out for a 24 Month contract for an insanely priced, non-competitive tariff so they can pay €200+ for an iPhone. It actually bewilders me. And they mainly use their phone for WhatsApp, or Facebook. You'd get a half decent Android for €250 unlocked, get a much more competitive PAYG deal with more minutes/texts/data a month and not be tied in for 2 years.

What's worse is the networks know people will shell out extra for an iPhone, and so have iPhone-only plans which are terribly overpriced and uncompetitive. A vicious circle!

    Rant over...

First of all people get them as they see them as a status symbol. Second of all unlike android iOS is user friendly and you are guaranteed updates for a few years at least.

Android is user friendly and customizable....iOS is cretin friendly and so locked down

I use android and I have to say to the technology incompetent it is not user friendly with all the different manufacturers launchers and bloatware. IOS isn't exactly locked down as much as it was previously so that argument is becoming less and less effective in favour of android.

I have the latest iPhone. I'd get a HTC One as that is the best Android phone you can get, but there is no comparison between a top tier smartphone and a €250 android. A HTC One S5 and 5s are all in the same price range and destroy cheap phones.

Once you're at the top, you can't come down to a cheaper, lower specked, poorly built phone. Once you're used to the best available, you won't want to go back.

I accidentally posted that before I finished the rest.

But the One is by far one of the best Android phones, and very near the top. The Samsung S5 gets nowhere near it, though. Ugly, cheap design/materials with extreme bloatware and skins. They're overrated, yet they are the 'iPhones' of android, because everyone thinks they're the best.

I'm one of the people who can't stand apple products.

Apple computers and laptops are the same as "normal" ones, just a very different price tag, iPhones and android have same apps, they both make calls and send texts and whatever... Just nearly a €200 price difference... For a label.

And what bugs me about apple products- not only have you just spent €500 on a phone, you can only use other apple products; headphones(argos €33) ; chargers (argos €35)...etc.

I think i'll stick to my Toshiba laptop, my Sony phone and my Samsung MP3 player.

    Very wrong.

Try finding a windows laptop with all flash storage and a very high quality, high definition screen and build quality and you'll learn they are around the same price as the MacBooks.

The €500 computers you're buying are not comparable at all to them, that's a myth.

An S5, Z2 or HTC M8 will cost about the same as a 5s and you can use any headphones in apple products.

I don't personally like iPhones but that's my preference, I don't begrudge those that do prefere them or Mac as opposed to Windows

I don't think I judge people on clothes. I buy all sorts. I've a couple of Hilfiger t-shirts but I've a few cheap t-shirts from J&J, Burtons, etc too. Normally buy jeans in River Island cause they fit well and aren't too expensive.

Generally don't buy anything in Pennys because I find they don't last as long, keep their shape or colour but if someone else buys all their clothing there, what do I care!?

    Performance? Nah.
Looks? Maybe in the past, but most Windows laptops are very nice looking now
    Durablility? Same as ^

I think people still have in their heads that Windows 7/8 are like XP i.e. not secure and riddled with viruses. I have had a 7 laptop for 4 years now, a Samsung, and have not had a single *proper* virus...just the usual bits of crap you pick up while surfing the web, and the MS Essentials made light work of it.

So to sum up, sure, 6+ years ago Apple products looked nice etc, etc but everyone else has caught up and in some cases surpassed them.

    Oh yeah - Superdry. *Shudder*.

I got one of their shirts as a present and was really surprised. The quality is good and the logo is fairly subtle on my one. Was down in Kildare Village recently and noticed that the shirts in the store there are 30 quid which is a bargain for a decent shirt imo.

Agree with you on the tees and hoodies with massive logos, but I have shirts and a jacket by them and everything is comfy and feels like it'll last.

Both are 'user-friendly' in the naive user sense of the word.

The average user doesn't even know what bloatware is or care less about customizing android.
