Hi lads. Went out yesterday evening for literally an hour to get something for the pit and my god I've never seen as many rabbits in my life. In one corner of a field I counted 27 an along a ditch in field beside it there was 18 and again more in other field. I only done 3 fields an finished up with 7 rabbits in an hour with the shotgun.
Spotted 5 buzzards in air together circling aswell and a fox. So between myself and the predators we don't seem to be making a dent.
Need a rifle me thinks. Is it as good in anyone else's permission?

Like Beretta Man i cannot remember the last time i saw rabbits on my permissions. However a mate brought has brought me out to his permission a couple of times and on a bad day we see over 30.

He thinks these are quiet days and when you look at the land you see diggings all the way across the fields. So bad is it the farmer had to "abandon" one of his fields due to damage. Now my mate (and his other shooting buddies) hits this regularly throughout the week, every week. He says he'll run out of ammo before it runs out of rabbits.

Seen the feckers sitting quite happily beside the crow banger. Not a bother on them.

Huge amount of rabbits in some areas got 17 in under an hour 2 days ago got 10 more in same fields last night. Other permissions have no rabbits for years. Seems to be only pockets of them

I have shooting in Cavan, Meath where there's no rabbits, when years ago they where a plague. We shoot the odd one in south country Dublin while a couple of permissons in Wicklow are thriving with them.

Was out again just there and was pretty disgusted at what I seen. Amongst a lot of rabbits I came across 7 dead rabbits all with holes in them.
Now as far as I'm aware I'm only one allowed on this land.
I've no problem if another was to come onto it but shooting them an leaving them isn't right. 2 rabbits were that young they still had mark from the umbilical cord and some were still warm.
Farmer wasn't around to ask but il ask on Sunday as curiosity has me.

The 2 with umbilical cord must be tiny the don't leave the burrow that early to still have some marks from umbilical on them and for someone to shoot rabbits that small is a twat

They hadn't the cords but the mark from it if you know what I mean. The two were only about 2 inches bigger than my hand. Seriously horrible to just leave them there.
One had been worked on by a grey crow and was missing his left eye.

Noticed a big increase too on Blessington Game Club land this summer. Unfortunately though saw one or 2 sitting on the main road this week displaying obvious mixie symtoms.

There is some people out there that shoot rabbits for target practice and have no intention of eating them such a waste.

Seriously what's the point in shooting them then??
Yes they're vermin but They're perfectly edible. I could shoot twenty rabbits and they'd all be used. I eat them and Have neighbours that are always asking for them aswell. None goes to waste.

I treat rabbits like all game I shoot for the pot I would never shoot rabbits ,pigeon, and leave them there not only is it a waste its wrong reminds me of the French shooters shooting 100 of pigeons and throwing them into a ditch

Got so much down here in Cork I'm giving away places to Shoot on to decent blokes, I just can't get to all the places, even if I did it as a full time job i still could not do them all, then the start of next month I will be at them even less...

Not a bad complaint to have to be fair.
