I had my G700 mouse and a G930 headset replaced without proof of purchase by Logitech. I ended up ringing up about the headset first. then the following day my mouse button was sticking/not holding down so rang them up about it a couple of days later. Mentioned that I had already had my headset replaced and then when the replacements arrived they had sent me 2 headsets and had upgrades my mouse to g700s

Isn't that a Cherry keyboard? Would you not just pull the switch itself and swap it with another? If it fixes the issue, then buy some replacement switches.

It's not just the T, loads of them do it, T most frequently. But I didn't know I could replace the switch so something to consider!

Might do the same about my Logitech MX performance. The scroll wheel seems to have gone in it

How about turning key filter on? Left shift button for 8 seconds.

I don't think you can swap out the switches very easily without taking the Axel off the board.

And even then who knows. I spilt a bottle of foreign extra stout on my k70 and left it a few days before using. It was sticky at first so I whipped all the keys off and cleaned it, perfectly fine now.

I was of the impression you could, so I googled it. If you can solder, its easy. If you can't then maybe not so easy.

I did the same. I can solder but not very well so I won't try.

    What does key filter do?

Its just 2 large contacts, pcb itself is pretty basic so no worrys of messing anything else up. Considering the cost of new keys, I'd end up trying the soldering myself.

Can you contact the guy you got it off? He may have some proof of purchase. Failing that just tell them you don't have one, the worst they can do is say they won't replace it and it seems like you weren't expecting anything anyway.

No wasn't expecting anything, just hoped there might be a software fix or settings fix or something. I got it from somebody here but can't remember who. I'll have to check my adverts history. Even if he has one it'll be made out to him at his address so that won't help me much.

Not sure it's worth the hassle, loads of keys do it, i'll be moving half the keyboard around.

Is a 970 still worth a purchase? Found a good cheap one for about 160 quid but should I save up and get a 1060 or 480?

I'd say the 480 would be better.

At 160 it's a good deal for a solid Nvidia card. A GTX1060 is almost twice that and the GTX480 isn't really any faster at the moment.

For 160eu I would grab it if you plan on staying 1080p. Way too good value.

Hey guys, im planning on spraying my case just to update the look of it without the need of buying a new one. Im just wondering if theres any particular kind of paint I hould use? Im pretty experienced in spraying, done quite a bit over the years. Heres what I plan on doing (photoshop mockup):

Whats your thoughts? Not sure if i should paint the grilles too? The case is a Corsair Carbide 300r if anybody wants to know. Black on the side is going to be a tempered glass window.

Powder coating would last longer & look much better IMHO

ah right, was going to offer to solder it for you, easy enough job, but you're a bit far away to make it feasible, sorry

No worries ,Thanks for the thought. Its more than one key though so I'm not too arsed trying to fix it, looking at getting something else.

Powder coating would be good but then I worry that the cost of it would be much cheaper just to buy a new 760t or something similar? Also the front Panel would be plastic and powder coating doesn't look as impressive on plastic as metal.

I'd buy some matte white spray tins and just spray it

Hrrm. Probably negligible but paint will have some impact on heat dissipation, won't it?

You are doing something wrong if the metal case is acting as a radiator :pac:
Airflow is much more important. That is why you can safely noise insulate a PC case without affecting temperatures much.

Nope, it isn't. It makes fúck all difference. You could stick an asthmatic cat in your case as a fan and it will have the same effect

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,307 ✭✭✭Xenoronin

I get what he is saying, but air is still flowing in there. Regardless of the t-shirt and how many boxes he throws in the CPU Fan is still pushing air through the heatsink and out through the many different exits in the case, so it isn't a passive system. Regardless, I was making a point about painting your case not affecting temperatures. Airflow still matters.
