Winchester SX3 Problem Beware

Well lads as the add says.... A friend of mine bought a brand new Winchester SX3 Black Shadow Model in February of this year. Now the gun has been pigeon shooting 4 times and at clays twice. And this man is very particular about his guns etc.... So last month we were out pigeon shooting and he noticed the barrel was very rusty altogether, turns out there is a problem with the coating on them barrels as the same gun smith sold 3 other guns with the exact same problem, now Winchester were contacted directly and warranty that is sold with the gun does not cover rust on the barrel. Gun was bought off Winchester in January and sold to my friend in February. Gun is 5 months in use and I will upload a video to show the rust and remember this gun is always cleaned. Had a look on internet and it is a common problem with all them models from what I can gather. Now my friend asked me to post this and ask had anyone else had same problems and gun men to stay clear of this product.

I've seen the same rust on guns in dealers shops. Any dealer with no or poor humidity controls suffer the same problem.

I was going to ask did he go back to the dealer, but after a few months he'd have a hard time trying to convince him or Winchester that it was a fault with the product rather than his own actions.

What are his plans? Get is sorted himself, try and push for the dealer/manufacturer to do it? If they've already said no where does it leave him?

Lads the gun was in the box came straight from winchester, well browning somewhere in europe, had to be put together he wasn't even aloud fire it till he bought it. He knew a lad that had one same gun just timber but he fired that one and bought it.....it wasn't even in the dealers shop out of the box. No come back from dealer or winchester. This man cleans and reconditions guns etc for our local gun dealer so i think this gun is well look after. Have a search on google about that particular model all stating premature rusting on barrels.

He doesn't want to go down the legal route but he did consider it don't get me wrong. He is just going to try get the barrel sorted himself but a gun 5 months old??? Hasn't had a days rough shooting either....Muti-Million dollar company, i think they could do a lot better then sorry the warranty doesn't cover rust. If you read through some forums they say it is the coating. The gun itself is shooting perfect etc.... but imagine that barrel in a few years time if left this way. Might as well have paid for a second hand gun.

Hed do a better job himself if he used the birchwood casey reblue kit!He may reblue it kit isnt too much but you shouldnt have to reblue your gun coz of a crappy factory finish!
