Have not tried that one, however, have had success with the Wam caller.

Nowadays, I think it is best to learn to do it yourself, without any calls at all. One less thing to carry. One less thing to lose. More natural too.

Best caller I've ever put my mouth to

Is that the Australian made one you are referring to, the Silva fox whistle? Looks good on youtube anyway.

Have two of them (one for the ould lad and myself)

Great caller. Took a little time to perfect, but once i did i got great results. Better than any other caller, electric or otherwise.

I also have one of these (best original fox call):

Have only used it the once, but no success. Not that it did not work just seemed to be a quite night. Haven't touched it since but now that i think about it i must try it again.

Cass that one in the photo is a cracker of a caller. I don't usually hunt foxes per say and usually only take them as I see them in the fields but I have one of those callers and the odd time I used it had great success. My first kill with my .270 a few years back was a head shot fox at about 25 yards off the shoulder and I was standing on the skyline with the fox below me using that caller

The one the OP is talking about i know better as the Tenterfield, but the one i posted about i had before just never used it.

I used the Tenterfiled for a good while to great success. The one above i've only used once and in fairness foxes are pretty scarce where i am (ao good thing for the farmers i shoot for) so i really never gave it a good testing in that i happened to take it out when there were no foxes. Had i had the Tenterfield i doubt i would have gotten any joy either.

One thing though. I find the one above far easier to use. At times i stumble when using the tenterfield. Takes a little to get back into the use of it whereas the other one is straight forward every time.

I know carry both. I actively hunted them up to a couple of years ago, but due to the scarcity of them i know only shoot if requested or i come across one. Victims of our own success.

When out lamping we use a combination of silva fox, wam caller, foxcallerpro and widgeon whistle.

    They all work.

One time I was trying to call a fox in daylight with the wam but he couldn't hear me I switched over to squealing on the back of my hand and fox came in no problem, different calls different situations.

If one doesn't work try the next.
