The behind the scenes programme has just started...settled into the couch now for the evening :-)

This could be brilliant, or an absolute car crash!

Or a bit of both :D

    Skyplus for me

Palin is the best so far. Although he does have a slight advantage over the others in the Yorkshiremen Sketch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74,296 ✭✭✭✭Welsh Megaman

    Rude bits :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,108 ✭✭✭ShagNastii

Was going to go see this in the cinema.

Bit sickened I didn't know. This is going to be censored to the hilt by the looks of it.

Disgusted with the cut away - it's Monty Python, it's gonna be rude.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,973 ✭✭✭RayM

I can just about tolerate the censorshit if it means more Michael Palin.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74,296 ✭✭✭✭Welsh Megaman

Oh well, the price you pay for the pre-watershed :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74,296 ✭✭✭✭Welsh Megaman

    Love Terry Gilliam's animations

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 863 ✭✭✭GastroBoy

Pretty good so far, bit annoying with the censorship but that's what ye get before 9 I guess. Terry Jones still hilarious!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,368 ✭✭✭The_Morrigan

They allowed nudity....but not some cursing lol

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,973 ✭✭✭RayM

I love that they have a massive ejaculating penis on the stage, but mild swearing is bleeped.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,108 ✭✭✭ShagNastii

Old woman Jones is always hilarious.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74,296 ✭✭✭✭Welsh Megaman

A few choice words slipped through the net there :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,383 ✭✭✭✭Birneybau

It's strange seeing Carol Cleveland in the Lumberjack sketch, rather than Connie Booth.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,841 ✭✭✭lertsnim

They are showing it uncensored on Tuesday night.

i am loving this though! :)

It won't be heavily censored after 9 hopefully, some of the jokes are totally lost with the dreaded beep!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74,296 ✭✭✭✭Welsh Megaman

Didn't quite bleep out the f-word there :D

    It's a disgrace, Joe!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,368 ✭✭✭The_Morrigan

I'd say the 'bleeper' is losing the will to live in the production box.

I bet whoever is operating the bleeping machine did that deliberately, as a cheeky little nod to all the censorship complaints on Twitter.

It reminded me of this scene from The IT Crowd:

    Class!!

Watching this on arte as I'm in France, they're showing the first episode during the break :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74,296 ✭✭✭✭Welsh Megaman

I'll say it now during the intermission...

Mr. Palin is my favourite Python :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,339 ✭✭✭Jijsaw

Chapman is my favourite I think followed by Palin, Cleese, Idle, Gilliam and finally Jones.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,444 ✭✭✭✭Skid X

It's not doing it for me. Maybe it's not transferring from the stage to the television well (Bleeping out the punchlines doesn't help).

If it was an unknown troupe performing on RTE, this thread would be full of people ranting about how RTE can't do comedy.

Must say I'm fond of Graham Chapman myself. Sod the bugger for not being there tonight!! :)

I'm waiting for Dara to knock on Terry Jones's door, only for him to say 'NOW GO AWAY/P*** OFF!' :D

I say to him good riddance, the freeloading b*st*rd! :D

I must say the corpsing was hilarious; this is one of the few shows that you can have that happen and it won't ruin the scene.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,749 ✭✭✭✭grey_so_what

I think it may be a feeling of "you have to be there" for me.....

I'm still ready to be convinced though....

I think the censorship is creating that sense of isolation for the tv viewers, but that should ease off now for the second half.

I saw 'Spamalot' in London when Warwick was in it, with Joe Pasquale :D

    Great show

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,973 ✭✭✭RayM

I must say, since the World Cup ended, I've really missed half-time analysis. This is very enjoyable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74,296 ✭✭✭✭Welsh Megaman

You can stop doing the funny voice now, Mr. Coogan :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,368 ✭✭✭The_Morrigan

Is Steve Coogan drunk? He keeps slurring words...

    Great show

That was on here too, Phill Jupitus and Todd Carthy were in it, I enjoyed it.

I was sitting behind Gay Byrne and Kathleen Watkins. I wouldn't have had them down as Monty Python fans, but he did have most of them on the LLS at one time or another.

They should have spent the last 10 minutes showing us the bits they bleeped out before 9pm
