Anyone any ideas what this could be? I noticed a small bald patch at the top of the dogs leg near the base of it tail. It's the same on the other leg in the same place. This dog is housed with 2 others and no signs of anything similar on the other two dogs.

could just be a bald spot where he he sitting down constantly,if it gets any worse,(might be the start of mange,)or if you see any other bald spots appearing, then mange could be present

Make sure the dog is not sitting on concrete where it is pissing. this took a lot like that just give it some where it can sit of the groung i have benches 2 feet by 4 feet with rubber mat on top great for them. for now pup baby oil on it daly or on sunny days sun cream. the hair should grow back.

I doubt very much this is mange . One of my springers recently developed something very similar , in fact almost identical. Took him to the vet who said it was Wet Eczema . Basically the dog just had an allergic reaction to something, which didn't affect any of the other dogs in the kennel. Apparently it is quite common especially in warm/humid weather. Vet just gave him an injection , some tablets for about week and kept a protective collar thing on the dog to stop him biting at it , and he was grand within 4-5 days.

It doesn't look raw or sore so it's most likely a reaction to a mite etc. 1/2 a ml of ivermec inj under the skin will sort it. One of my springers had it, I gave him the shot and dipped him in a tactic wash and he was perfect again. The hair came back perfect.
