    Another get out clause. What if he had an accident.

    If the insurance investigator then found the cause was something on the car that broke, and that would have been picked up on an NCT, then fair enough.

    But if you car is knackered (and wouldn't pass the NCT) you cant expect the insurance company to keep towing it really.

    one of my parents are Scottish and from talking to the Rellies, there are saying the general gist is that the elderly war service people are voting no and younger people are saying vote Yes.

    If it's that knackered it wouldn't pass (and I don't mean trivial stuff, like a rear seatbelt not working) then fine, but a burnt out clutch can strike anyone, at any time.
