A Ninty NFC reader came into the house today, bought by my son.
At least it means he can use our mutual Amiibo collection on his array of 3DS games.

Picked up 6 blind bags of Mario k'nex figures. I say blind bags but I gave them the full Sarandon treatment, pretty sure I got Yoshi, Peach, Bowser or Dk, Diddy Kong and Toad. 56c each!

Incoming arcade controller for the N64, I didn't even know that they made such a device for the console.
There's a few pure arcade titles for the format, and this will be perfect for them.
I'll post a pic as soon as I collect it tomorrow!
    Can't wait!

Picked up the N64 arcade stick and it's amazing, and huge!

    n64-stick-face.jpg

I've asked on the Retro forum for tips on what titles the N64 is host to that the stick will work well on, but any suggestions here would be welcome.
It maps all the functions of the classic N64 controller onto it, but I don't think it's going to work well with Mario 64 or GoldenEye!

Would that monstrosity work with that fighting game? Fighters Fury or Fighters Destiny or Fighter-Horn or something like that. The one where you jump around a square platform trying to beat a jester to death. Can't remember how many buttons it used but it was a fighting game, and fighting games demand arcade controllers. And it was surprisingly fun if a little slow. Also, and I know it wasn't popular with you and your arcade purist brethren, but Mortal Kombat 4 was a fast, furious, button-mashing masterpiece (ok, it had that one throw where the girl jumped up on your shoulders, tried to suffocate you with her nethers and then snapped your neck. The internet was slow and the sites were all pay per view, I was easily impressed back then). Was there a Killer Instinct sequel too, that possibly wasn't great due to the shoehorning of 3D rotating backgrounds into the 2D mix just because it was "next gen" but again, you know, fighting game?

Can you put a banana in that shot for scale? Or an n64? It looks like it's about the same size, possibly even using the same plastic housing as the N64 :D

I'm sure that arcade stick would have made my day back in the times of N64 and my relentless play sessions of KI Gold.

Today though, looking at it, I threw up my mouth a little :pac:

It's bigger than the console itself.
I think Aerofighter and Robotron will be good on it.
Namco Museum and I'm not sure what else.
I'll report further after some research!

Would like to hear your impressions on it. Love the Persona games, the main reason for getting the 2DS was so I could play the SMT games too.

Loving Persona decided to play as the Persona 4 character, Kanji and hearing the theme music again is great, eye issues are flaring up again for me so not gonna spend too much time on it, I liked number 1 in the series the Etrinian Odyssey style is very like that game again, loved number 3 too so am hoping to start a file with those characters too.

Buy a digital copy as the boxed prices are extremely high for most SMT games, forgot how creepy and funny the dialogue of persona 4 is.

I couldn't be bothered to take a photo with just Ninty stuff, so imagine the non Nintendo stuff isn't there.

I bought Bravely Second for the 2DS the other day without really knowing what it was, should I play Bravely Default first?

If you can pick up Bravely Default cheap, absolutely.

If not, Bravely Second will spoil the entire plot of the first game in the opening cutscene, and continue to heavily reference it throughout.

If you don't care about plot, that's cool, but it will invalidate ever checking out the original game.

I got Arkanoid for my Famicom yesterday.
    Happy Ciderman :D
It should have come with the paddle controller, but it didn't.
    Sad Ciderman :(
I made a raucous complaint to the seller.
    Angry Ciderman
Turns out I didn't read the ad properly.
    Embarrassed n00b Ciderman. :confused::o

    Bugger....
