I wonder what she'd have thought if she saw you, a random driver, taking photographs of her:)
You might end up on a list somewhere:)

Capri is a version of Chevelle for children. 1.6/1.8 I4 versus 5.0 V8. Simple maths.

The style might not be to every ones taste but its great to see that Mustang back on the streets.
It had been off the road over 30 years.

^ thanks Kevin, it certainly sounded in good fettle.
The front end is a more aggressive type than I've seen on a notchback before. I'm not sure what county the reg is from, but it must have been a rare car on Irish roads back in the day. do you know any more about its history?

IY would have been a Louth reg. WIY 1 was issued in May 1969.

As has been pointed out, it is a Co. Louth registration number.

I am unsure who imported the car.

It was originally a six cylinder car.

Here is a photo taken of it in Headons Garage in the 80's.
It is in its original red paint.

I was at the local Parade today. There were about 25 of the vintage cars in the parade. I spotted this machine. I have never seen one of these, that is one cool looking car.

If they're my old wheels, and they look very like them, that Merc has a 126 series 560 engine fitted apparently.

lots of rust to contend with.

Well worth restoring, if you had the funds. That was truly the last great Firebird - other than having a 455. With a proper 4 barrel and edelbrock intake, you should have no problem seeing 500lbs worth of torques from that motor.

Awesome cars when well sorted and loved.

A selection of Mercedes recently spotted in Greystones - the W115 is a regular driver. I just love the simple, elegant lines of the W114/115. Cool period colour on this one too.
