I remember buying an orange monster for £95

The way things are going, you might soon buy one again for that sort of money 😂

Thanks, I saw that but felt it wasn't for me. Hoping the professional will become my daily wear.

I'm over in the States frequently so keeping an eye there but absolutely kicking myself for not picking it up in Tokyo last month.

The TAG F1 Chrono special edition is winging its way to a new owner in Oz!

The vintage Speedie Mark II is still up, lots of watchers, no offers.

Usual rules apply for anyone of this parish and save on shipping! :)

Just had a very good experience selling via Chrono24.

All worked perfectly, as described. Even navigating Antipodean customs rules was made relatively easy.

Glad it worked out, someone got a great watch. Any plans for newly the vacant lot on your wrist:) ?

    Alas not.

I'm liquidating to fund a bit of a shuffle in finances generally, mostly to do with college education, internships and general investment in the future!

    All good.

How long do you wait till they release the funds for sale there.
What are the odds of buyer somehow scamming me there - as in do they have a method to do it, such as chargeback or so? Let's say they use stolen card to pay?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,997 ✭✭✭Lorddrakul

Buyer received the watch Monday, was happy and released immediately. Funds were in my account today. AFAIR, the buyer has 10 days for review and satisfaction. If they do nothing, funds are automatically released.

Don't know about the fraud/malice element, as once the escrow service is paid, there is no way to withdraw, unless the funds are released back to the buyer by the escrow. My only issues were buyers looking to circumvent the escrow. If you are buying from a reputable dealer, you can often find the advertised item on their own website and make a direct approach.

However, as a private seller if someone suggests such, that's alarm bells.

I've sold a Cartier, 2 Breitlings, the TAG and an oddball 7750 chrono on it and each time, once the messers were aside, it has been excellent and I happily pay the 6% for the service.

Heard a few stories about buyers being very picky on chrono24 re authorizing payout. I guess worst case they wouldn't and watch would come back to you. Chrono would probably still take a cut of a sale if it's returned?

    Thanks.

BTW I checked it with them, unless I ship it to Chrono address and they ship to the buyer if there is a chargeback you are out of money. (or better said in risk of being out of money)

EDIT wrong info, it just has to be the address of the buyer they provided and there is protection, this is much better

There is no sale if it is returned, so C24 will not take any cut. But yeah same as with the likes of eBay / PayPal or generally shipping something unseen. That's why I have never sold anything on eBay / C24. I prefer local pickup, thus adverts.ie. With all its faults and a very limited local Irish audience of course.

I have one guy now who is local on Chrono trying to buy a watch I have for sale but he is being problematic - is trying to take the sale off the site but obviously isn't aware of likes of adverts / donedeal to hint to me to take it there.

Then he says he is happy to pay through the site but wants to see the watch first.
It would be a local pickup so let's say he says he doesn't fancy it, how do I prove to Chrono I really haven't sold it to him and not pay the fee.

Yeah this is proving to be a bit of a pain unless you are lucky enough to stumble on someone OK.

And I did have a lowball offer on adverts.ie already but can't help but think now it's a safer bet and loose couple of hundred euros - better than loosing the entire watch or not selling it and paying the fee.

do not complete a sale where the person pays using chrono24 and they collect it as you have no proof of tracking, if you have an offer on adverts then try and meet in the middle price wise or hang tough if you can and wait for a better one

    The internet isn’t for everyone

There is no obligation on a private seller on Chrono to allow a return.

I emailed them if I get the buyer to login and mark the watch as received if it is good enough and they replied it is, so happy days then.

Also they do offer chargeback protection as long as if you are shipping its the address they provided of the buyer, ie. if buyer messages via phone a different one and you send there obviously thats an issue.

So sounds better than I thought in the end.

Buyer purchased paid via them, once collects will mark as received and happy days 👍

Potentially but their pictures would have to be unrepresentative of what you received, I would not rely on being able to return if buying (from a private individual)

Not the usual type of watch sold here, but got a Garmin Instinct 2s for sale.

This is the smaller 40mm version.

A well reviewed watch for sporty sorts and good health tracking.

    Great battery life.

No box, just the watch and charging lead.

**** please note, the strap on this has a small circumference, so won't suit big wrists ***

    Asking for €100 delivered

Is anyone interested in a swap?

I picked up this Boldr 3XT GMT a couple of months ago.

It's a lovely watch, but I'm just not bonding with it and it's getting little wrist time.

It's a true flyer GMT and more can be read about here

These are a limited edition of 100 per colour.

I'd put the trade value at €400 and sale value at €370

I have fairly broad taste so if anyone is interested in a swap?

Show me what you've got 😁

    Hi folks,

I'm after a tube or two for omega Seamaster bracelet. Part 201ST0053

I picked up a quartz Seamaster and it has a spare link but missing a tube. See them on eBay etc but if anyone has one locally be happy to buy/pay for postage.

    Thanks

    Mick

I bought a Pelagos recently on Chrono24 from a private seller and had to return it. See if you can figure out why...
