Hi guys, I just thought I'd share my new mod with you after trying it out for the first time yesterday. I already have a T8 on my BRNO 550 and it works a treat but its a bit heavy on an already heavy rifle so when I got my Browning Composite Stalker in 30.06 I wanted something lighter to add to the package. I looked at the usual suspects in steel and aluminium but came across a CNC machined aircaft grade titanium moderator with an integrated pepper-pot muzzle brake at my local RFD. Its machined to a fraction of a millimeter and has a ceramic finish to protect the exterior surface from the heat generated by the shot. It comes in two sizes, one for calibres up to 6.5x55 and the other for .30 cals.
Its a bit more than I was planning to cough up but it won't burn out, rust or corrode and compared to ones that I looked at in the UK its lighter, shorter and cheaper ( the UK one was stg£600 plus postage and didn't have a muzzle brake). This one is 14.5cm long 4.5cm in diameter an only weighs 370 grams. Its the only mod you will ever need to buy.
As its custom made I had to give my rifle thread details and calibre, pay the man and wait a week but boy was it worth it! My 30.06 has a loud percussive thump and a less than friendly shouldrt punch but now its a pussy cat!!
Clarrie in CG Hobbies in Celbridge is the man to go to. He's the sole distributor and has a working demo model in the shop for those who want to see and feel what to expect before handing over their money. He's a fun guy and dealing with him was hassle free.
I'll try to upload a pic. Safe shooting!

It seems to tick the boxes. Light enough, short, and if the cermaic works then less mirage due to overheating of the mod. One question though. You say:

An intergrated muzzle brake. I don't fully understand this. All suppressors have a "muzzle brake" design inside. Usually in the form of baffles/holes that redirect and slow/cool the gases. If they did not they would not work. A muzzle brake usually just redirects the gases but the difference is a muzzle brake is not enclosed.

I just not getting how it differs from any other mod that would use the same design, internally, to redirect gases. If you look at the picture you'll see an x=ray of a series of suppressors and how they combine porting and baffles to do the same thing.

It might seem like i'm being pedantic, but i'm not. I'm genuinely curious.

Best of luck and give a review as soon as you get a chance to test it out.

Hi and thanks for the comments. Maybe I should have said detachable rather than integrated as the muzzle brake can be unscrewed from the mod.
As for a review, well I used it for the first time yesterday and it makes a phenomenal difference to my 30.06
I have a T8 on my other rifle and I have to say that it's as good if not better. It's difficult to determine exact noise reduction between the two but for the size and weight of the new mod I think it far outshines the steel one. I haven't used an aluminium mod so can't compare but have heard stories that some of the ATEC mods should be considered as disposable after a couple of hundred rounds. This one should stand the test of time.

Does the brake come out and can it be used as a separate device from the mod?

It's more about what you're happy. If it suits you and works then that is all that counts.

    Really.

Never had an issue, nor heard of one, with any i've used or others have used. As they come completely apart for cleaning it's relatively easy to maintain.

It's the reason the T8s are such a pain. They are a good mod, and good for sound reduction, but a pain in the whole to clean.

What make is it. I didn't see a name or missed it.

Yep the muzzle brake is detachable and can be used separately, you can see it in the pics uploaded on the first post.
A shooting acquaintance in the UK had an ATEC maxim which was aluminium with some stainless steel baffles. He had problems with it after 300 or so rounds and phoned the company. He was told to consider them as disposable after that many rounds. I appreciate that this is third hand information so you can take it with a pinch of salt.
There's no engraving on the mod apart from the calibre and thread size but if you ask Clarrie in CG hobbies for an RS moderator that's the one he'll hand you.

eah i seen that, but thought it was just a removable baffle. If thats the case, and it's a separate muzzle brake, then i can see where the price is coming from. To buy a brake, and mod would set you back over €500.

That's where my confusion on the matter was coming from.

Not saying it couldn't happen, just never heard that. The fact your mate says he got it from the company is somewhat worrying. The T8, for all the complaints about it rusting would be better so. Would last for a many more rounds and is cheaper. So if a "disposable" mod is what you buy then there are better options.

RS? Never heard of them. Must see if i can find something on them

Thanks for taking the time to explain some things for me.
