I have been reading and giggling at the many references to older women ' (30+).'

I never thought of my 30+friends as old in any way. Of course, some people do look much older than they actually are, but in general 30 year olds don't seem 'old' in my opinion.

The only difference I an think of compared to how they seemed in their 20's, is their mannerisms. And, at the same time, I know people in their 20's who seem older.

Are you automatically old at 30, surely not? What is it all about? :)

I'm happier, fitter, quite frankly hotter, calmer, more confident, more fun, more carefree, more open minded and likely many other things, in my thirties than I ever was in my twenties. I don't think anyone could accuse me of being old.

I still skip, carry bubbles in my handbag, and get asked for ID :D

I'm over 70 and still don't feel old. I probably have more enjoyment in my life now than I did in my 30s or 40s. I'm certainly as active today as I was 40 years ago.

Mid-twenties to mid-thirties is quite an odd age bracket to be in. Proper "youth" ends around twenty three and middle-age starts in your late thirties. The intervening years have an uncertain feeling to them, you aren't young enough to be properly young but not old enough to be "old". To answer the question, I'm in my twenties and no, I wouldn't consider someone in their thirties to be old. I definitely did when I was a teenager though, so I suppose it's all a matter of perspective.

If someone youngin' called me an auld wan, I'd respond with an, "Ah right" and get on with my day.

I couldn't give a big hairy bollocks if someone sees me as old or not because to be quite frank, the bonus prize of being in your 30's is the beginning of the realisation that you are not defined by how others view you and by jaysus, it's a relief and a half.

Everything may be on the way to heading South but by golly, I'd rather that than my wreak-the-head insecure thoughts of my early twenties.

How I'm viewed by the yoods doesn't even enter my radar tbh, so ha! Neh neh neh-neh neeeeh!! :P

I hate these labels people use and 'old' is right up their. Two of the coolest people and best party animals I ever knew where my late parents. They lived life to the full and never surrendered to conformity. They could mix with any age group and were usually at the centre of all the craic. So thanks to them, I grew up regarding age as being total insignificant/irrelevant.

No, just referred to as old by people who are years off it - or are old before their time.

Actually come to think of it are you with the lucky lady now, or are you just affirming your goals for next year?

I'm a couple a'years shy of 30, but a few of my friends are around that age.

We talk about how 'adulthood' has just kinda happened to us somehow, but we're still just a bunch of immature girls tbh, and we shall never grow up. NEVA!

On reflection, the best thing about my 30s was the fact that I could still get away with doing all the stuff I did in my 20s. The next best thing was the fact that I could afford to...

I find it very hard to guess ages. As I said, physically, some people look a decade or more older than they are but on the whole a 25 year old looks the same as a 30 year old to me. I dislike people who feel they are still teenagers in their mind, however old they are. I don't see the benefit of mentlly feeling like a teenager, that usually means the persn is a loud pain in the butt who drinks too much and makes a nuisane of themself (their idea of being young).
