22lr mod issue

Have a moderator on the rifle. Screw it off every time I'm packing up the rifle after each trip out.

Zeroing the rifle last week on the range, couple of shots in the moderator stopped moderating.

Any ideas what's wrong??

Failed to quieten the noise, failed to hold zero, etc? What exactly do you mean. Can you give a little more detail. Also make and model of the rifle & mod.


Without knowing any of the above i'd look at the mod itself. If it's not doing it's job then there could be a hole in it. Either externally or internally.

It's the noise cass. Sounds the same on now as off.

It's a cz 452, the mod just has www.ouluntyostokeskus.com on it. I've screwed the mod apart, can't see any other holes than manufactured

That's SAK mods. Fairly common, and a decent mod.

Take the mod apart. Check the part of the mod that attaches to the rifle. Then check the end cap. Then the outer body. Not just with your eyes, but if needs be block the ends and fill with water. See if any leaks out. Screw it back to gether, re-fill, and block the end. Fill with water and test again assembled to see if it leaks.

If there is no damage, holes, etc. then the next question is what ammo are you using? Have you changed from Subs to other ammo? IOW supersonic stuff.
