    Nice one man :)

Yea batch one being panel a and batch two being panel b really,

So if people from panel a fail medical etc people from panel b will be called to fill their spot.

Then the remaining people on panel b will be called in a years time for recruitment if recruitment is approved by government which it always is. So basically instead of creating a whole new competition for the 2015 recruitment drive they make a panel from the previous year which will be panel b :)

    Hope this helps yea bud

Im just going along with that now its makes the most sense lol :)

cheers and good luck moving forward.

My opinion (for what it's worth) is that there will possibly more vacancies in 2015 but this will depend on getting the go ahead from the Government to fill the places. They will fill places from Panel B rather than going through the whole recruitment process again.

It would be very helpful if they indicated what position a person was on the panel.

Regarding the bit in bold, did the person on the phone say Panel A and Panel B? Maybe they're reading this thread

    Maybe your right mystic

But i think axel f seems to no what hes talking about having previous experience

and i doubt there reading this thread ha

but even if the was we aren't doing anything wrong or breaking any rules we are just giving our opinion on the topic :)

    5. He said the results for Panel A would be available on 25 June and after a few days they could start taking people from Panel B.

    What does this mean?

It just means if anybody in panel A fail the pycho/met test the will look into taking people from panel B

Well that's what has been mentioned.

The guy told me that the results from 'Panel A' (the ones that are doing the supervised pyschometric tests in the Curragh) should be known by 25 June. I assume he meant that their scores would be compared and if there's a discrepancy between them, they would have failed that stage.

For example, 284 people get called to the Curragh and say only 200 pass that stage (some people may not even turn up!). They still have 84 places to fill. They start contacting the highest placed people on 'Panel B' and continue the process until all the places are filled. The process continues at the medical stage (some people will fail, some won't turn up). This is just my view on it.

You'll be doing a repeat of the pyschometric test (verbal reasoning and maths) but it will be supervised and more info about life in the army and what to expect.

Congrats and good luck. Please post about what was involved when you do it.

Yes as far as I know and can see. I wonder if the next physc test is done in computer or with pen and paper?

Yea I was only saying that to me mate today when we were talking about it like cause it's only verification test I'm thinking it may be the same ? But maybe it's gonna be completely different

Yea I can't imagine the curragh having all 284 computers for us to do it, be much handier if it was on pen and paper although it is a military college. I'll have to get onto a lad I know to see the faculties there. Hope we get a follow up email telling us the craic for the day

I'd also reckon it will be the exact same test scenario. An hour for that and maybe a 2 hour talk. Just my guess, what ya reckon?

Yea it's the best I can take from it all really, they have sent follow up emails for other stages so hopefully we get one from them stating what to expect for this test but who know

Pop into an opticians, and explain your problem... You have a few options.

    1) Have the optician write test your colour vision, using the ishihara test (circles made up of dots of various size and colour, with a number visable to those with safe colour perception) and the D15 Farnsworth series (also known as the City University Colour Perception test). He may be able to say that you are slightly colourblind, and that your colour perception is safe enough.

If you do this, don't mention the note until the doctor has tested you. If he fails you, then produce the note.

    2) Find the tests online, and learn them off. Try to learn off what number comes up with the various colours as you see them. I know a lad that did this for the Gardai.

But mainly mate, you need to accept that you may not get in. I have no idea why, I can't see how a soldier needs to have perfect colour vision.

None I'm afraid. Colour blindness is an automatic fail. And about trying to bluff your way through you'll only be a danger to those around if you succeed. There's a reason they test for it!!

I doubt we will hear anything, we don't need anymore than what the email specified, time, place and what to wear.
