Has former Minister Alan Shatter been a victim of a sinister crime?

Right - arsehole makes stupid Jew bashing remark...that much I follow. How do we get from there to "Alan Shatter been a victim of a sinister crime".

I'd be curious as to what that sinister crime would be. That none of the allegations in the report were true, but that 'they' falsified it because Shatter is Jewish?

Don't they understand it is only acceptable to be anti-Catholic?

Are you suggesting Jew bashing is acceptable behaviour?

    Unacceptable behaviour imho.

Its not acceptable to be anti-Catholic. It is acceptable to be against Church control of social, health and education policies in an allegedly modern republic. Catholics can of course observe whatever personal morality they feel appropriate - within reason. All anyone asks is that they extend the same courtesy to everyone else. That this seems oppressive to a certain type of Catholic tells you all you need to know.

Being jewish isn't just about your religion - it's also a race/ethnicity, so the "Plenty of people who are religious get grief for it" isn't relevant.
Are you suggesting Jew bashing is acceptable behaviour?
He definitely didn't as far as I can see. He just asked what was the sinister crime you were suggesting.

Are you a farmer, or somebody with a ready supply of straw?

    This is, of course, rubbish.

Yes I own a farm, what has that got to do with Criminal behaviour?

I'd love if you could elaborate. It's very easy just to throw out "This is rubbish" and say nothing further.

There are people who don't observe Jewish traditions but are still Jewish.

They were just referring to the way you asked, for no reason, "Are you suggesting Jew bashing is an acceptable behaviour?"
That line of arguing is called a strawman, hence the reference to straw.

    And?

The Catholics, Protestants and Satanists who don't observe their religion but identify themselves within their secular circle don't count.

Tell me again how you're such an expert on these things.....

Poster , Noidin used the words, "Jew bashing". One can only sense fro this that the poster has no issue with what happened, hence my response.

I was rather surprised because Noidin is a master at choosing words carefully. Note this is a compliment Noidin

    Calling anti-semitism jew-bashing = deeming it acceptable. 'K.

Tell you "again" how I'm such an expert on these things? But I didn't say I was such an expert on these things at all.
Quite the amount of (quite lunatic) ad hominem on this thread.

Judaism is passed down the genetic (matrilineal) line - is christianity?

Mostly. Same as most religions. Your point is?

Christianity is passed down the genetic line? No it's not. You have to be baptised. You're getting very angry and upset over some internet posts - are you ok?

Did I read a wiki article about a particular religious group? Is this question going anywhere or do you generally try make no sense during these conversations?

No, just the hostility of your posts - in the face of not much provocation (apart from mere disagreement).

    This section is relevant

"Judaism shares some of the characteristics of a nation, an ethnicity,[15] a religion, and a culture, making the definition of who is a Jew vary slightly depending on whether a religious or national approach to identity is used.[53][54] Generally, in modern secular usage Jews include three groups: people who were born to a Jewish family regardless of whether or not they follow the religion, those who have some Jewish ancestral background or lineage (sometimes including those who do not have strictly matrilineal descent), and people without any Jewish ancestral background or lineage who have formally converted to Judaism and therefore are followers of the religion."

Feckin mild tbh. I was expecting something a lot more raw. If that's anti-semitic, then the standards have been lowered.

The comments in the journal article although obviously wrong were pretty mild, did you read it? I don't see what you reference to the holocaust is about though. Does it make the comments more wrong? If a German was insulted about their race would that be less wrong?
