Did any of you lot enquire about having to have your car insured for business? I just imagined commuting would be enough but not according to the wee booklet!

I'm intake 3, following this thread for info. I was wondering the exact same thing, was planning to ask at induction weekend, then upgrade if necessary. The only reason we would need it would be if we had to drive between two different duty stations during a working day, for example report for duty and get told go somewhere else, because they're short, then that wouldn't be commuting.

I've just thought, some of the training is off site, so if we have to drive to it ourselves from GV then that is not commuting.

Got it in one. It's easy to get it added to your insurance. Just phone and ask.

Pretty sure you can't claim mileage costs unless your car is insured for business use too.
