Definitely. Abel Hernandez and Gaston Ramirez are two great signings for them.

16m seems pretty fair for Welbeck, Balotelli was going cheap because hes a nutcase. Ross McCormack and Shane Long both went for 12m, hes better and younger than both of those players.

Lets see with Welbeck, hes a very technically sound player but has no record of scoring goals which is bread and butter for a striker.

Take away the fact that he plays for Man Utd and you may just have another middle of the road English mid table striker.

And possibly Ben Arfa...or is that deal dead.

Surprised anyone wanted to sign him in the first place tbh

Probably his agent at play. If he stays with Utd until next summer he will get a massive signing on fee and deal from whoever wants him on a free.

In fairness it's not as if he has been playing in a great team with great players. He has looked good last season playing in a shambles of a team and was very good this pre season also. He is quality and it's Utd's loss imo. He will thrive under a manager like Wenger.

Also think welbeck would shine at Arsenal. Decent signing for them, but not one of world class stature that would make them competitive in all competitions. Arsenal's defensive midfield spine is their biggest weakness.

Yep! Didn't see it confirmed so left it out. They'll not be in a relegation battle anyway.

Was that the 3 balck vans driving down a lane way that Sky are showing?

Sandro is a cracking signing for QPR.

£16m is nowhere near a fair price!

    We're selling to:
    1. A rival that can prevent us from gaining top 4
    2. A team in dire need a striker
    3. A team who plain out refused to do business with us on Vermaelen

And he's a young Englishman. Surely all of those combined demand a much higher price than £16m...

Wellbeck will thrive at arsenal. Very raw but has loads of pace and with santi and ozil pinging tru balls in he'll score lots. He'll miss a few but will score more than giroud

Anyone here know why Micah Richards has gone to Fiorentina ? Surely some English club would have wanted him

    Ben Arfa, Ramirez and Diame

Pretty good day for Hull fans.

Some serious pond life out in force on Sky Sports News tonight. Part of me feels sorry for those reporters but the other part of me says good enough for them for creating this hype and day of transfer farce.

Arsenal / United should really have signed Sandro.

Point 3 Arsenal didn't point blank refuse, but wanted a swap deal with Smalling.

Cleverley staying with United. He wouldn't reduce his wage demands for Villa / Valencia, and Everton only wanted a loan while United were keen to sell.

Sad times. Another few months until he goes on a free anyway.

Great day for Hull, I am just glad they didn't go back in for Rhodes!

On the other point I agree, they created the Circus so it is their own fault when the Clowns turn up!

    You are selling:

    4. A striker who doesn't score many goals

£16m is a great price for Utd.

Seems to be more of them this year...

And Falcao aside, it's been an overhyped last day.

What is it with fans to start spouting stuff like swear or rude stuff on TV as if they are big men. Its gone a bit embarrassing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,073 ✭✭✭✭Degag

Even though all those fans are idiots, it's Sky's fault for giving them the platform to be idiots. It wouldn't be too hard to do the interviews from an area that the fans can't act the bollix or be heard on microphone.

Ramirez to Hull on loan to buy.

Sky really need to reconsider the policy of mixing with "fans" outside the grounds for future deadline days. It's pathetic, shambolic, embarrassing and distracting.
