    Little bit of a restock.
Ordered Sunday night. Delivered this morning. Thanks to say he lads in detailing shed.
These carpro products are extremely good value. Almost 12 months from the reload alone being used very regularly.
I even diluted some so as I could use it after each wash as a drying aid while adding to the finish at the same time.

Pic seems to be missing Vectra. I bought some carpro products (eraser and iron-x) very impressed by them. Haven't gone down the road of the nano/ceramic coatings yet.

I'm counting the days down too! Hopefully it stays dry Saturday. Last Sunday would have been the perfect day to do it :(

So I'm looking to get my hands on some fusso but unsure which type to go for. There is this stuff that I think is a liquid wax: link and then there's the wax paste stuff: link . Which one would you recommend? They claim 9 months protection. Do detailing shed stock this anymore, or offer an equally good alternative?

Whichever one you go for ( I would recommend the paste )
    do NOT buy from Ebay.

DS do not stock it. but there is a stockist in Ireland alright.

Thanks for the link. Ebay sounds like a nightmare, bad experience?

Edit: I went for this: SOFT 99 Kiwami Extreme Gloss, Light Soft Paste Wax × 1 €36 :o

Ebay issue is russian goods and not genuine as far as I am aware.

    Good combo apparently.
I did try Fusso and really liked it.

    Good prep

2 extremely light coats 24 hours apart.
    Nothing more needed.
That was good enough to keep me smiling.

Kiwami is supposed to be very very glossy though/

    Don't we all.
I just prefer the beads from Fusso alone.

I'm hoping for a dry weekend to do a complete job, with the proper wash method. Then clay, polish, seal, wax. As it hasn't got the full works done in quite a while and the paint work is looking a bit tired. So hopefully after this treatment it will mask some of the imperfections.

Anyone ever apply some wax on the shiny parts of the dashboard

If its clear coated you can but wouldn't have thought be much point especially if its door handles you use open car it wear away uber quick.

Lads! What kind of wax or treatment would you recommend for (bright, canary VW)yellow colour? Thank you!

So today I paid someone to properly clean my car. I wasn't spending a fortune by any means, but all my detailing/washing kit is at my parents house up the country, and i'm driving as the bridesmaids car in a wedding tomorrow so it needed to be done.

Called into Alphasuds here in Cork, and I cant say a bad word about them. Great wash, nice lads, good products, good price, and without asking, they took out my 'elbow stain' - during a hot summer a combo of sweat and sun factor oil stained the cloth center console arm rest. Looks near new now.

depends on how far you want to go.
    Is the paint fresh?
    if so
Usual wash > Decon > Detar > Clay > Wax ( Collinite 845 ) is super value and very durable.

If paint is not in great condition the a proper prep would most likely do no harm to freshen up the base before sealing it up.

If you want to go for a more permanent coating you could look at a ceramic coat. like CQUK or similar.

As Vectra has said, the preparation is key. It's about 90% of the battle in getting paintwork looking well. If the paintwork isn't badly swirled or faded, then a wash, de-tar, de-iron, and clay will bring it up nicely. And then anything applied after will look very good. Choosing the right wax or sealant will make a slight difference...perhaps something like Dodo Juice Banana Armour will help give it a bit of pop as it has additives to help enhance yellows.

    Thank you Vectra and Curran!

It's not faded, so I'll try the standard way, I believe it will give me good result. Have to find time now and pull the necessary tools together.

Was talking to a lad that works in a petrol station today. They usually use them soft brushes to wash cars. He said that someone came in today in a 162 asking it to be washed with a sponge instead. I'd have thought the brush would have been the lesser of 2 evils?
