Heard someone say that the President had a big say in the celebration assume it was choosing who would perform etc so expect it to be a lot different to the awful one they put on when the Queen was in Ireland. Enjoying it so far. Great stuff. Sent relatives abroad the rte player link and they're all watching it too.

I agree with you Lynn.....I read the other day that they were banning sleeves of costumes being sown onto the side of dresses.....in the interest of Health and Safety....:D

For those of you liking the venue -

The Royal Albert Hall is amazing - acoustics are second to none

If you ever get a chance to see/listen to anything there - take it.

Amazing place

Proms there every year - you can watch on BBC HD aswell - brilliant
