Heading on Thursday, can't wait. Just started college up in Dublin and 9 of my school friends are coming from all around to get some good darting action.

What time would people expect proceedings to be coming to a close at on that night? Of course it depends but my friends are asking me if we'll go to town after but I figure it'll be too late.

Does anybody have any news on Taylor?

I seen he got beat 6-0 in last 16 on Saturday but doesn't look like he played on Sunday?!? He's due to play Steve Beaton tonight, could be see the bronzed adonis with a big upset on night 1?

It's unlikely but you never know. Taylor has "previous" when it comes to getting knocked out in Round 1 of the Grand Prix. I wouldn't read into the Players Championships though, he probably just wanted the day off on Sunday to get ready for the tournament. The players really enjoy this tournament because they get to stay in the Citywest Hotel, use the golf course etc. so he probably just wanted to chill out for the day.

Pity, I prefer the old hall. It's going to be long night tonight!

Well done Mickey Mansell, great win

Needle between Lewis and Gurney at the end??? Seemed to be in each others ear after the match whilst shaking hands with referee and markers. Gurney seemed to point to the side of the oche, I'll watch it again but I'm almost certain that when Lewis missed the double 10 in the last leg, he seemed to put his darts in his pocket whilst walking back, ie in full view of Gurney who then missed 25. Having said that Gurney did try the blind 180!!! Great match in fairness.

its amazing that the 2 players relagated from the premier league (Simon Whitlock and Wes Newton) are gone from the tournament in the first round. Can see Taylor or MVG winning it out

Goin Thursday night looking forward too it

Whitlock and Newton are inconsistent at the best of times though, Newton particularly on doubles (he was atrocious starting on them yesterday in particular) which doesn't help in the format.

You have to give Burnett some credit, that was some last leg against Whitlock considering he missed so many darts to start. Whitlock was his own worst enemy as he simply couldn't get his starting double going at all. He used to be the best in the business at doubles but he has really lost that in the last couple of years.
