if you've been watching what our government has being trying to defend and support the last few weeks and in fact since it took office, like me you might be fed up with being lied too, placated too, condescended too, spied on, robbed/corrupted and increasingly forced to work for free, emigrate, fester on the dole or worse case scenario swing from a rope,

all the while out government swan off across the globe meeting and greeting other corrupt "leaders", enjoy fantastic lifestyles and pick up massive pensions even if they wreck the country and what are the people of Ireland doing about it??

final straw for me is after shatter rushes through his statement this morn and stated he only recieved info on the garda station phone call recordings on tue at 12.40pm and since then the statement was so ill recieved he had to finally apolagise, and now we know he knew about these recordings since at least 2001!!

when will the people decide enough is enough!!

    Rant over?

For what it's worth, and I'm not going to get in to yet another government bashing discussing, I'm happy enough with this current government and what they have done to get this country going again. I didn't vote for them but will in future.

When the lies become implausible it is a bit disheartening in fairness.
They've dealt with all of this like complete idiots.Just fess up and
do the thing right instead of automatically falling back on the default position of petty politics

Feasible alternative administration to run the country?

    FF/SF?

    Unviable and probably worse IMO

all we need to is hold governments to account, if something unforgivable comes out like what has been leaking out of our government the last few years we go to the polls and the next crowd would want to do a better job or they're out on their a$$es too. the problem is not who's in government, it's what they think and/or know they can get away with

    I agree.
Most Irish voters are thick without a doubt.
And the ones that don't bother are almost as bad.

But that w*nker from FG grinds my gears so much, he's a disgusting specimen of what thickos elect.

this coupled with the fact the people are going to wait til april 2016 to hold the government to account is why whatever report comes, it will amount to sweet fcuk all!!

    nice one ;)

I have never voted FF in my life. I doubt anyone in my family have.
However they are looking more and more credible with each day considering the sequence of screw-ups and general inaction from this massive majority government.

One thing is obvious to me, the majority of the cabinet are coasting to a cushy retirement in 2016...and couldn't give a fiddlers as a result.

Anything that will buy time till it all blows over is the usual ploy.

They are so full of s**t they don't even read the reports when they do come out.

Majority of cabinet rolling towards retirement in 2 years? Doubt it. Jimmy Deenihan I'd say for sure, providing FG can get a replacement ticket in listowel. Noonan a possibility but not a certainty. That's it really on the FG ranks. Labour? Hmmm maybe Quinn but not a definite either. Pat Rabbite perhaps, but I'd also doubt it

this coming saturday afternoon or next week would do me, hopefully some large organisation calls for a mass family demonstration

as each day goes by and new examples of corruption come out we need this more than ever

Enda will I think. Noonan for sure. Quinn & Rabitte yes - they have lost interest.
Burton & Howlin also, no loss whatsoever, worst performers by far.
Gilmore only 58 but I reckon he will too.
Bruton, strong possibility - very quiet these days.
    Shatter yes.

When the mass of people have something to protest about which will get them more money it will happen. Like the tax marches of the past. Nobody is interested in some vague anti corruption anti austerity agenda. Especially coming from Communist quarters like yourself.

This is it. The meedjah can get nothing much on this govt bar the never ending non story surrounding whistle blowers. Back in the real world most peoples real concerns are having a job, lower taxes, helathcare and education. Given the deep mess handed over by FF they are doing a damn good job as far as im concerned. Unemployment has fallen to quite an extent and numbers in work have gone up. The economy has stabilised and is improving in most areas. This is a very good start. I have every faith this will continue given their record the past 3 yesrs rebuilding the country after FF all but destroyed us.
I honestly dont see the big deal. After all the gardai are independent of the government to a grester extent so the witch hunt for Shatter I really don't get.

However, only two of those parties are in government overseeing the destruction of public trust in the Gardai.

Their arrogance and contempt for the public is worse than that shown by FFail.
