I have heard this happening to some people, I think they just email them and they then got the POE.

Tried to do the last of my application there yesterday (3 days left to do it), wouldn't let me login through firefox. Tried logging in through chrome, worked grand. Finished the application.

Got an email saying I have a message (i'm guessing its just a confirmation of sorts) - ever since I cannot login via anything, my PC, my laptop, my phone - yet my girlfriend logs in fine. Got her to try my mine straight after hers, nope, error.

I hope everything is going through ok and the message wasn't to do with something i'd done wrong, because by the time I can login i'll be out of time to do it!

Going to finally start uploading everything tonight, only have about 5 days left on my CAL to do so.

I kinda flew threw the questionnaire and i doubt it has any purpose other than to give you the list of forms you need to upload (am i correct) but i just remembered a question that kind of threw me:

"Are you giving someone access to your application?
Yes I will be appointing a represenative on my behalf
Yes grant authorization for citizenship and immigration Canada to release your application information to another person
Yes appoint both a representative and grant authorization to release information to another person
    No"

I selected no, i didnt really understand it, is there another option i should have ticked? If so can i redo it? I havent set up a GCKey account yet.

I still got to the "you may be elligable to come to Canada" and have been asked for the same forms as everyone.

Ive left this late (as usual) so dont want any last minute issues.

    Cheers in advance

"No" is the correct answer for that question. You would select one of the other answers if a third party was doing your application or if you were using an immigration lawyer.

Thanks man, now just have to get photos done today, fill out forms and upload docs. Just hope some stupid convictions from a few years ago don't mess everything up for me

the police cert should be with your irish police cert . just save the 2 certs to the one file and upload it in the cert section is how to do it

take the photo with a camera phone and use idphotoforyou
select canada then visa and then single photo in the drop down and your good to go with that its all sized right to upload. if ya were gonna pay for some no need too.

Hi all, just wondering is there anybody that has been waiting awhile for your POE? I submitted my application back in April and was then asked for a police clearance from Australia.. I got that and uploaded it over a month ago and still nothing back from them. My partner was the same and once he uploaded his oz clearance he received his POE a week later. It just weird how one can take so much longer than the other. The wait is killing me at this point!!

One other question, apologies if this has been asked but i done a search and couldnt find anything on it.

I will be travelling with my girlfriend who i have been living with for 6 years, so we both put 'common-law partners' on our IEC application as we googled it and according to Canada thats what our relationship is. I also put down common law on the questionnaire.

Should CIC information be exactly the same as the IEC info?

For example when it asks you list family members should we put each other in for 'common-law partners' and tick 'yes' for 'will accompany you to Canada'? Im guessing yes considering we are. Im guessing its not a big deal just want to have everthing right.

    Thanks in advance

    Help.

I've just received my POE this morning but looking at the validity date it has already expired. It reads:

You must enter Canada no later than the validity date noted below.

    Permit validity (YYYY/MM/DD):2014/06/18

    Shouldn't that be 2015??

Has anybody any idea who I can contact about this I've searched all over the site but can't find anything on myCIC?!

I believe that "will accompany you to Canada" has a specific meaning that the person accompanying you to Canada does not have their own visa and will be dependent on your status to live in Canada. As the IEC does not allow for implied status, you should probably tick No for that. My wife and myself both have visas and we answered no that question and got the POE.

Thanks for that, I was wondering about that question.

After getting fed up of taking photos on my phone for ages and the lightening been all wrong etc I decided 2 get it done in a chemist.

Fill out remaining forms tonight and that's it. Fingers crossed!

There was a major balls-up on their end and as such I'm struggling to meet the latest deadline - I sent them a message through the Kompass site some time ago but still haven't got a reply. Is there an email address I can get them on?

Ya it's very annoying how one can take so much longer when we both done everything at the same time.. We were hoping to go in the next couple of weeks so it's messing everything up having to wait.. I tried ringing the canada office and the London office as they are dealing with Irish applicants but it gives you no option to speak with somebody it just tells you to go online for everything!

Hi again, I found somewhere to contact them in the the London office, they replied to me within 24 hours and have said they never received my document. Although it says on my application that I have uploaded and they received it a month ago! Must be a glitch in the system. Anyway it won't let me paste a link as I'm only a new user on this but if you go to the cic site then go to find cic offices and look for London or Ireland and it will give you London link. There is a place to send "case specific" email.

I got to talk one on one via email with somebody from the office and was approved within the hour!
I'm sure it's the same problem for your BF they prob didnt received the documents.

Best of luck I hope it gets sorted for you :)

Thanks for posting that I've used it to contact them regarding the date on my POE being wrong. They put the validity date as 2014/06/18 meaning MY POE HAS ALREADY EXPIRED. Just my luck for something random like this to happen.

That is crazy, how do they manage to make a mistake like that! They sent me my POE but it did not have any of my details on it, so I got back to them and they sent me a proper one within a few minutes so it should be an easy fix for you. Best of luck with it :)

Got sorted this morning, pleasantly surprised at how quick they sorted the issue out. Key seems to be contact the London office if you need something in a hurry.

Now here's my next question. Can anyone who's actually entered Canada on an IEC explain a little about the process at boarder control?

How do they know to issue the work permit for 24months and what if the boarder control agent doesn't have a clue what I'm on about...it's just a bit of paper after all, how does it all link up?

Anyone know if it's a problem if your CV is updated between stage 1 and 2? Mine had me presently seeking work when I did the IEC, but for MyCIC lists my current job which I got since. I think I read someone say they had to be identical?

I think people were just using the same out of convenience, as far as i can see all that links the IEC and your myCIC account is the CAL, dont quote me on that but thats what im guessing so a different CV shouldnt make a difference
