Irish Women come fourth in world infidelity league table

Kind of shocked by this to be honest, as not the type to cheat myself and don't see the majority of friends considering it either. I have known some friends to cheat in relationships, but just nowhere near the amount that would justify the findings of this survey. I genuinely thought we would come in around 57th or something.

The survey the findings were based on, was conducted by the extra marital dating site, Victoria Milan. The UK came first, with 38%, Sweden second with 36%, which is more understandable given the talent on offer I suppose :) The USA were third, with 22% and France, at 20%, were 4th.

So, I'm skeptical, to say the least, as I don't think one country cheats more thab another one, but am I just being naive here? Are Irish women really as guilty of infidelity as this site's survey suggests?

A survey says I am the most considerate and satisfying lover of all time.

I don't have a link to it though.

Yay, another gender war thread (I don't mean you OP, but that's what it will turn into).

How did Irish women come fourth in the league if France came fourth in the survey?

Did we get extra points for playing away? :D

What I can never seem to understand is why so many people think one gender cheats more then another as if there's a few individuals cheating with thousands of members of the opposite sex to balance things out.

On International Women Day the whole country is concentrating on one man, BOD. Then you drop this bomb about Irish women. This is too much I need me sleeping pills!

If you correlate it to the Irish drinking stats and the decline in the influence of the catholic church not sure why you would be shocked.

Cheating is not gender specific. I comes down to the fact that you either leave someone you don't love anymore or you don't. You leave, you move on. You don't, you cheat and hurt your other half, and by extention your children if you have them, and your family.

A cheater will always have the potential to cheat, regardless of gender. Whether they choose to act on it again defines them as one or the other forever in my view.

Like most Irish heterosexual men I do not find Irish women attractive, interesting or sexy and have no interest in them so this issue does not concern me.

So I will leave the thread now.

Looks like the skill has gone out of trolling completely in recent times. Now I enjoy a good well thought out post that riles up the women good but this is dire stuff alltogether.

Anyone can create surveys or statistics. That famous Homer Simpson line to Kent Brockman comes to mind :p

But would Ireland be the genuine 4th position if you could some how accurately measure? ... Being honest, I wouldnt be suprised to hear if we were.

    No-one like a cheat.

Well, no-one apart from the one riding the cheat. They quite like them, probably. Who came up with that one?

Irish women are actually pretty damn fine. I regularly crash stuff, trip, spill coffee and drool at the fine specimens of stuff/thangs that deport themselves across this fair land. Not all of them, obvs, but jasus, there's some fine looking Irish women out there. What's worse, they're Irish, so they have that "feck off ya git" attitude as well...which is kinda Mmmm.

    You may have Parkinsons

    Really? Why?

Sadly cheating is not uncommon these days. Like, I am talking from what i've seen. Vast vast majority happening in the pub scene but some through jobs as well.

and i am not just talking about women cheating... seen plenty of blokes do it too. But two examples come to mind when writing this. As by knowing these people you just would of thought they wouldnt be the type to cheat...

1, a girl (who had a boyfriend of 2 years at the time) sucking a guy off in the bathroom toilets of a pub one saturday night. Said guy was a friend of a friend. This was only the second time ever meeting him. After she "finishes" she ends up crying and telling her mates. It was a very weird and messed up night after that.

2, Started a job back in 2008. Became friends with one girl in particular. Also the manager was a sound bloke who, at the time, recently had a baby with his long-term partner.... but you guessed it manager and girl were having an affair. She was at least 10 years younger than him as well.

... like my point is that there is alot of cheating going on out there. So I wouldnt be suprised to hear Ireland is indeed number 4.

Given the chance, i'd have fourty sons. Not a cheater though. The missus would kill me. 40 sons would probably kill her..

What you can't think of any attractive irish women. I think you may have the ghey..

Even if cheating goes on a lot in Ireland, it's still surprising that Ireland ties with France, where it's kinda cultural to have an extra-marital luvairrrr (well, according to TV/the movies anyway).
And if it's a "world" table, well then it's a hell of a lot of countries, so Ireland could still rank highly even if way lower than fourth.

I think it's impossible to quantify something like that though, so I wouldn't take league tables like this seriously in the slightest. I've seen extensive cheating in the UK (lived there 3 years) and here in Spain and while travelling in South America (as far as I could tell, it was almost a given in Argentina, for example; everyone seemed to have been cheated on or was cheating on someone).

One thing that is a myth though is that men are the main perpetrators of it; women are just as likely to cheat as men in my experience.

Fcuk me! Ireland complaining about coming fourth! If it was running, we'd be having open-bus tours for coming tenth. A fourths a fourth lads, it's almost the bronze.

Couldnt agree with your more on that one. Its not about genders. Its about people.

Right, I'll be the one to say it. If it included impure thoughts/mind-riding, we'd be first. No question. The amount of sisters/brothers of spouses/BFs/GFs thrown the bauld one would be off the scale. And if you included work colleagues, the scale would explode.

Sure 4th place gets you Champions League qualification.

Wait. It's 4th out of circa 208 apparently.

Did we at least beat England?
