    LA92.
The los Angeles riots of 1992, all original footage without the narrator but done fantastically well and a serious eye opener if I were an American.

I watched it last night. Like PP it opened my eyes.... felt a lot of sympathy for the people living in South Central. The riots were almost a logical outcome of the two events (Rodney King and Latasha Harlins).

But Lord, watching the footage of the drivers pulled from their cars and beaten up....felt sick and very hard to watch.

Yes I found that very difficult to watch. Some were obviously killed and for What?
The truck driver, I felt so sorry for him.

I watched the first two last night as well.

I'm on 3 now, tucked up in bed with beans on toast and tea looking out at the snow!

It's so mad, them all lining up and yer man driving by in his jag!

One local hit the nail on the head when he said don't equate education with common sense.

That Sheelagh one is some piece of work.

Golden State Killer: It's Not Over
If you're interested in serial killer docs this new documentary is worth a watch. It's the story of the original night stalker which remains unsolved.
I'd heard of him but never really knew that much about his crimes.
Binge watched the four episodes late at night during the week and certainly gave me the heebie-jeebies anyway.
An all round horrible character so he was.

I’m fascinated by this case, casefile podcast was brilliant. Must look for this!

I have to go out in the snow :( so am looking forward to watching the rest of it later . Unbelievable how peoples minds work , and it's crazy how we (I) never heard of it before !

Post an update when you've finished it !

Did either of you think he may have had some form of military training?

And where do I listen to the podcast?

I watched one on BBC3 a few years ago on homelessness in Las Vegas and the number of children affected by it.
Can't remember what it was called, but it was a real eye opener.

Hundreds of people/families are living in the storm drains of Las Vegas and the programme focused on the efforts of the schools in the area to provide education, support nutrition and some kind of security to children who have basically been abandoned by the state.
The lack of any coherent social supports for poor people is really laid bare.
It strikes home the dichotomy of the haves on the Strip, versus the have nots in the drainage systems.

America is a great country to be rich in, but God help you if you are poor!
But any country including our own should be judged on how we look after the weakest in our society.
In the States, where social supports such as public medecine or a "Dole" are deemed anathema and its really everyone for themselves...
If you are a real American, you will follow the dream and not need Government help ;)
It's a country that I wouldn't want to live in without a hefty salary and great benefits ;)

I must watch this, I have listened to loads of Osho on YouTube over the years. Mildly aware of the controversy, but always found his videos powerful and enjoyable. His very bling watches standout and can be distracting though :D.
I even had an Osho app on my phone, kind of a thought for the day thing.

Yes, and that is bottomed out a bit, the knots he used, some of the equipment and the nearby military bases, his age. It seemed very likely but again a frustrating dead end! The scary thing is in the 90’s call he made, children could be heard in the background, so likely settled down and married!

If you have an iPhone it’s on the app, also tunein radio, you can also listen on pc via soundcloud on the casefile website.

Just finished it now. Could not stop till I got to the end.

Loved the little guy from Antelope(he ended up being on the Council with the Rajneesh) and his attitude to the whole thing, totally agree with his sum up of the whole thing towards the end as well.

There are so many twists and turns that you can’t actually believe it’s true.

Some of the stuff is so bonkers I was actually laughing at the madness of it(the homeless people bit) and the beavers.

Wouldn’t listen to Bagran or Osho in a fit- I found it hilarious the way he changed his mind like the weather when suited and he was a horrible sleazy chancer.

One bit also made me really laugh but I won’t say what it was as it gives away the story.

It’s very sad and scary how ppl fall for this crap.

Brilliant documentary and so well made. Told from every angle. Beats making a murderer hands down for me.

Going by the documentary they got a guy in to review that audio from that creepy phonecall, he proved that it was actually a movie that was on in the background!

Good documentary on last night about the execution of Osama bin Laden.

To see the detail and time spent in planning the execution of the raid in the dead of night was awesome.

Then having to destroy one of their own helicopters before leaving as it had crashed on landing.

Just watched that la times doc on the streets mentioned above.
    Shocking.
I wonder if we are headed for that if the hard right keep getting voted in here. Horrible. Decent people living like that.

Thats real homelessness, not the sort of stuff that passes for homelessness in Ireland.

And thats in the USA too, supposedly the most advanced country in the world. We often here Ireland referred to as a 'Third World Country' just because we have people on trollies in hospital (like most Western countries) or because they don't have a house where they want one located (often close to Mammy), but look at that clip and we aren't as bad as many would paint us to be.

Staircase is amazing, totally gripping, more compelling than Making a Murderer, while Staircase lacks the snazzy production values of MAM , the story is unreal, great twists in it, be warned, its very graphic....

Out Of Thin Air. Murder In Iceland

This one is about the murder of 2 people. It's in Iceland in the 1970s where serious crime is almost non-existent. Pretty easy case with full confessions....................... or maybe not
