I have both Harris and Deben and there is no difference between them. Same quality, design, and performance. Whether that lasts over the years i don't know, but they have done for the last 3 years.

The issue with Harris bipods was for a while they had the market "cornered" so they could charge the high prices. Thing now is cheaper versions of just as good quality are available, but Harris cannot lower prices as it would raise the question of "why is my €130 bipod now only worth €90" or "why were they so expensive before".

The reason for this could be the patent ran out, or the other manufacturers are using a slightly different material/feature or any other change that does not infringe on any existing (if there are any) patents. Once the patent runs out other manufacturers are free to not only produce their own but copy the design of Harris.

Buffalo River is another.Kind of a Harris ripoff, but about half the price and not too bad for its price.Bit fiddly to take off and put on and tighten IMO.But what youse pays is what youse gets.:)

I am an avid user of bipods, have Harris and Harris clone.
But just a curve ball for you, if its just for zeroing get your self set up with sand bags / sand socks. Cheaper by far and IMO better for zeroing. Spend the money on something your going to use regularly.

To add to the curve ball above would you not think it better to zero the rifle using as close to same conditions as you would use in the field. Whatever system you are using in the field use the same system to zero to recreate the same shot time after time

new to this myself but my understanding of bipods is that if you have it left on a hard surface; table, concrete, compact gravel etc it will bounce a bit (depending on caliber) making zeroing difficult, you would be better off with socks of sand which absorb the bounce.

I do not know if you can get them in Ireland, however, I am hearing good things about Shooter's Ridge bipods.
