Glorious stuff here from Dublin Bus, Network Noel, a bloody football on a sweeping brush.

Why are Irish standards for cultural icons so bog low that the laughable fact of it is accepted and passed off as, "ah sure its abit of craic." So many examples out there, it just seems like a part of our psyche we've developed from centuries of living on this bleedin rock.

Looks like a wanker which isn't unusual in Dublin Bus

A cultural icon? An ad gimmick for a bus company.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,806 ✭✭✭Rothmans

It's from their youtube account so it seems to be legit.

Seriously though. A football on a stick.

Christ almighty, who is responsible for marketing in that company?

I hope it was made by an in house job bridge person and they didn't actually pay an advertising agency for that.

The upside down logo is half corrugated cardboard coloured black, half permanent marker drawn on the football. Bizarre decision making

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 505 ✭✭✭Mikros

They are actually running ads on TV with the football... with not a hint of a pisstake to be seen. This is deadly serious.

[then again we are talking about it...no publicity is bad publicity etc.]

Are Network Noel's hairs made from gay sperm?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 767 ✭✭✭SimonQuinlank

If it was made for €3.05 or by a transition year student then fair enough. If that cost thousands of € in production fees its ridiculous!

You owe Dublin Bus €20,000 in libel related damages for that insinuation.

Public services should make any ad campaign by holding contests for student production teams. It would only cost the state a few thousand dollars in prize money, and then there would at least be an excuse for them to be cheesy and ridiculous (or funny but low-budget).

I think this is what may have happened by the looks of it, without the few thousand dollars (dollars?) prize money

It's uploaded to the Dublin Bus youtube channel. The kind of thing you'd expect in a third world capital city like Dublin. :D
