In all seriousness,Punk has been half assing it for nearly a year now in ring and on the mic and could definitely use the time off.He won't be that missed at Mania either if the plan was for him to feud with HHH.Was seriously not looking forward to weeks of him and HHH using each others real names and accusing each other of inside sh!te 90% of the audience doesn't give a crap about in their promos.

No official or "worked" announcement by the WWE is proving to me they're in a panic over his walk out and were not expecting it/planning it.

Like every year the topic of HBK coming out of retirement for one more match at WM pops up, never going to happen, HBK said so himself.

Or Bryan to win the Rumble when it was clear that WWE had picked Batista for that role weeks ago.

It's time to give up the chase, if this was a work, they would have made reference to it on Raw.

Something you're all forgetting, WWE is a public company, if this was real wwe.com would be wishing him all the best in his future endeavours if he has actually asked for a release. There are stockholders, they will want to know if one of their major stars has walked out. For now its one of three things:

A) He has left and requested a release and WWE and Punk haven't come to an agreement on his release contract-wise from a legal standpoint.

He's burnt out, asked Vince for a break, Vince granted it to him and he'll come back in a few weeks making a big return while most internet people convince themselves this is all real and he'll be propelled into a major WM match.

C) He's gone home and broken his contract and could be sued every single way imaginable by Vince because his contract doesn't expire until June/July. But Vince is being sound letting him go home for 6 months until his contract expires and paying one of his top stars to sit at home while he could promote himself endlessly for other promotions until his contract expires.

A and B are very possible yet everyone seems to be jumping towards option C even though it's completely ridiculous.

I think they did follow him because the people who noticed it seem to think its proof that Punk is gone.

Meh.

The biggest payday of the year is coming up in two months. Not only that but the biggest Wrestlemania yet. So bigger $$$ and Punk still has 6 months left on his contract.

Personally, it sounds like Punk is just working to get a bigger payday. He may be genuinely pissed off. He may very well have zero intention to resign and if that is the case WWE would be slowing down the C.M. Punk train right about now and that certainely would effect a big 'mania payday.

Wrestlezone.com is reporting that Punk left because he didnt see a match against HHH at wrestlemania as a big enough match and they are also claiming that Vince and Hunter are disagreing on weather to bring him back. Hunter doesnt want Punk back (suprise,suprise) but Vince does and Vince is dealing with the incident and will make the final decision

At this point you have to wonder about the possibility of Punk's action instigating a mutiny of sorts - if Ziggler followed, you'd have to wonder who else might follow suit.

Interesting time for wrestling if this isn't a work.

The thing is there is no where that can pay them the kind of money they would want. TNA is fecked, NJPW has enough Gaijin working for them at the moment.

I just can't see these guys going to the Indes.

I really wouldn't be surprised if it's all a work to get people interested coming up to WrestleMaina 30.

IF it's a work (and I'll be honest, I still don't think it is), then I think it's a stupid one.

Something like this can destroy trust between fans and a promotion, and while I get why they want to try and push "realism", it would, to me, make me doubt pretty much everything like this hence forth. Right now, WWE needs to try and lure the "older" generation back as they start their protests, and to me, trying to trick and work them is the right wrong way to do that...

They all come back eventually,be it for money,ego or both.Even Bret and Warrior have came back.

If this isn't a work Punk will be back in a year or two.Hopefully he'll have shaved those poxy sideburns by then.

The WWE is the only Game(pun intented) in town and they know it. If the alienate some of the hardcore internet fans so be it that's not where they make their money anyway all it does is keep them in the news and top of social media trends which is what they seem to want these days.

I can understand why people would think it's a work because they've been conditioned to be skeptical of pretty much everything, but I haven't even considered it for a second. I don't really see the upside of it, making themselves look bad for a few weeks and then proving to an already skeptical fanbase that they're right to not fully believe anything they hear about the company.

What are the positives of working this?

On his own, no. As part of a larger group though...

Ziggler got a massive pop at the Rumble. He's massively over with the same group Punk is.

Not saying a massive walkout is in anyway likely. Just that I wouldn't underestimate how big an impact a small exodus of certain talents would have with key demographs.

Seems to have been a smarky invasion at WWE tapings of late with the Bryan/Rumble stuff and now this.Getting more and more acceptable for grown men to act like spoilt children and hijack shows with their annoying chants when their favourite is perceived to have been slighted.

Valid point but NXT is a different case. They have been trending this way for awhile as they are over familar with the product rather than angry about it and it is mainly hipster-y students.

Hope The Shield are brought in the next set of tapings to eject audience members. :P

I think it was Wade Keller who said ages back that the real point where John Cena's position at the top is when the older audience stops hating him and starts getting bored instead. It's been a long time coming.

This is basically their primary punishment for switching to three hours too.

Don't need to read JR opinion tbh. Most wouldn't think it is a work, just that in wrestling it's safe to assume it could be.

Punk took a break before so it's not hard to believe he would do so again.

The stuff about Triple H thinks this, Vince thinks that, AJ is only contact between WWE and Punk etc is the soap opera type stuff that make it sound like it ocould be a work, maybe that stuff is getting made up to add to the actual story that to get hits.

I don't know what is worth believing right now which is the point I was trying to make before.
