This might sound silly but does anyone has same problem?

If you are a male and your hairline is receding but you spend 10-15 minutes to style your hair to cover the baldness and as soon as you walk out in the wind on the way to work everything is messed up leaving you look horrible.

Not sure what can be done about it !! ( Not shaving my head by the way)

Simply act in a manner befitting your chromosomal setup.

    Wear a hat?

Or walk around holding your comb-over in place with your hand. That always looks impressive.

10 to 15 minutes..... jesus..... and what's worse is that it's probably totally obvious to people you spend so long to not try and look bald in the first place....

This is my plan for when the inevitable sets in.

Unless those 10-15 mins are spent sticking hair to your head then yes, I'm afraid you likely can tell.

Embrace your baldness, get a John Luc Picard hairstyle, the ladies will go mad for it, comb overs are so 70s- dodgy looking guy in a trench coat

I think you need to face up to it..
You might think its 10-15 mins well spent but I can assure you its as obvious as the nose on your face to the people around you that your going bald and not comfortable with it.. to me it demonstrates serious lack of confidence in a persons self...
I'm not saying shave your head..

Go to a decent barber and ask what the best approach is..

I am pretty confident but not with my hair line receding. Barber said hair transplant would be good option

10-15 seconds for a bloke to sort out hair is an excessive waste of time.

Man up! Stop spending girlie amounts of time styling a comb-over. Cut it off! You're not losing your hair - you're gaining face! At least that's what the other chemo patients told me when I first arrived. I was also told to buy a no-no and reverse the batteries to make it a yes-yes but I much prefer my expanding collection of hats.

My other half is going bald. He doesn't care and I really admire that about him. He has a bald spot the size of a fist on the crown and the hair at the front is receding to meet it pretty sharpish. His bald spot is my favourite thing about him :D

After all that faffing, even without the wind undoing all the effort to hide the baldy, people are most likely looking at your hair and asking one question.

'Does that guy really think I think he has hair?'

Shave it, think of the time saved.

OP, the truth is you're going bald. Now can you handle the truth? (looks at username :pac:)

Shave it all off, work out loads and never smile and people might just mistake you for Jason Statham. (obviously if you could appear in multiple formulaic, straight to DVD action movies that would help too)

Thanks everyone. I can see that there are only two options for me. Either move to a diff country with no high winds or get transplant. Thanks for all your answers :)

Third option: cut your hair really short, it works for me anyway.

I'm the exact opposite. I hate having hair and resent any time I have to spend on it.

I have a huge shock of hair. It's unmanageable as it's very, very thick and grows quickly. I don't like the colour either, it's a dark sandy blonde ( a cousin once referred to it as "Mousy fart brown")

I clip my hair down to stubble every 2 weeks or so, as I sit here the stubble on my cheeks is longer than on my head (I hate shaving too)

Embrace the clippers, be a man. You're deluding yourself. You're spending 15 minutes styling your hair to try and cover a bald spot and I guarantee you that your receding hairline is obvious to everyone else

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 188 ✭✭Truth wins

No No No to all the answers above. I want to look good and none of your answers are helping so far:rolleyes::cool::D

That's because nobody has yet said 'go and spend 3-4k on a hair transplant that's likely to look crap'.
Why not have your hair cut shorter by a decent barber, take an expert's advice on it, in fact why not try shaving it once?! You might even like it!

Stop telling him to embrace his baldness people, some men hate going bald and will do anything to make it look like they have more hair. I'm beginning on that journey myself and not looking forward to it as I don't want to shave my head (its a weird shape!).

OP, wear a beanie hat on your way to work and bring a comb or whatever with you and fix it up when you get in.

yeah, some men are morons we know this. If something is happening to you that you (1) cannot control and (2) cannot reverse your only option is to embrace it.

    comb overs never work
    *never*
