    The RATHFARNHAM FORD
    DUBLIN BAY SAILING CLUB
    SPRING CHICKEN SERIES 2014
    SUNDAY 2nd FEBRUARY – SUNDAY 9th MARCH

    NOTICE OF RACE

A series of six races to be held on Sunday mornings – organised by Dublin Bay Sailing Club. Racing under modified ECHO. Cruisers, cruising boats, one-designs and boats that do not normally race are very welcome.

Again, as an incentive to get people sailing, a boat that takes out a NON-SAILOR(new to sailing) will get a 2% discount on it’s handicap that day. The non-sailor will qualify as such for 3 races if taken. There may be overlaps with non-sailors so rules will again evolve! Please use this in the spirit meant. Names must be registered before sailing on the day.

    First gun 10.10 hrs.

Entry fee €60.00 – includes temporary membership of Dublin Bay S.C. and National Y.C.

Entry forms in the waterfront clubs.

Sailing instructions will be available on Sunday 2nd February and will be emailed to entrants beforehand.

After sailing, food will be available to competitors in the National Y.C.

Well race 1 was very enjoyble if a bit pearl harbour.

This weekend is looking like it could be blown out although maybe Mother nature will take a break long enough for the race. Still too early to tell. :)

Results of race 1 are here

    Top 3 boats were

    1. Deja Vu
    2. Another Adventure
    3. Adelie

Must have been a great race between Deja Vu and Another Adventure with only 5 seconds elapsed time between them. Adelie put in a great sail only 6 seconds behind Deja Vu on corrected time.

After week 2's race was cancelled due to the high winds, we are looking good for the week 3 race tomorrow.

Windguru showing winds of 8 to 10 knots gusting to 15 - south westerly changing to southerly (sp?).
