No question that it's human instinct to indulge, but there's also our higher brain function that helps us exercise self-control. The hungry fat person on a diet is also capable of exercising self-control, even if you put them in a room full of sweets and junk food. We make allowances for children who are not mature enough yet to understand, let alone exercise self control, but fully grown adults are expected to know better.

You can expect that all you want, but reality disagrees. Just look at the number of overweight people. People for the most part are driven by their emotions on a moment to moment basis. Will power usually loses.

Reality doesn't disagree I'm afraid, and if you actually DO look at the number of overweight people, you'll see that they are still outnumbered by people of a healthy weight -
In Ireland at the present time 39% of adults are overweight and 18% are obese. Of these, slightly more men than women are obese and there is a higher incidence of the disease in lower socio-economic groups.

Source: Report of the National Taskforce on Obesity

Now I can quote you stats that say one third of the world's population are overweight and all the rest of it, but that's where figures get funky as some organisations will prefer to use the term "eating disorders" when compiling their statistics which range from anorexia and bulimia up to obesity and morbid obesity.

Point being - Reality says you're wrong.

I can also quote you comprehensive stats about sexual monogamy within marriages that won't tally with your perceptions either about people having no will power and being led by their emotions on a moment to moment basis, but really all I simply need say is that if your opinion held true - human beings, never mind even society and civilisations, would never have evolved to the point we are at now, because we'd all have killed each other off... when we weren't all having sex of course, have to find something to do like, idle hands and all that! :D

Too f*cking right I am! Living in a world where sex is going on everywhere, thrown in our faces in the media and films, and not finding a female to actually do it with?

That's what drove me to a hooker in the first place

Involuntary celibacy is a terrible thing.

You should do the decent thing and break up.

Don't you think that is rather simplistic? I can remember how devastated my Mum was when she discovered my Step Dad was having an affair and he left her for a woman half her age. She would have gladly have coped with the situation at her time of life, than have to start all over again and have no money. She now lives a very meager existence with just her pension and would you believe is not able to buy a smaller home, as the house that she had left to her by her parents is still legally half his, so then she wouldn't be able to afford anywhere.

He of course is now single, as the other woman didn't really want him. It was just a bit of fun.

For many the idea of their partner discreetly seeing a Sex Worker is a far better option that an affair, that has an emotional attachment and people tend to find out about. Once the cat is out of the bag, you have pride to deal with, hurt and the feeling of emotional betrayal.

At least with a Sex Worker (at least on the surface) it is just sex. If sex is being denied within a marriage for whatever reason, then it can hold marriages together, as there is less resentment, feeling of denial and pent up frustration.

People have no idea actually how common this is among marriages. So exactly as said a trip to see Candy 2 or 3 times a month keeps the man smiling. Escorts are a god send. I smile all the bigger when I get home for my tea.
