That's a fairly shocking retention rate. Clearly people don't even see the monthly show as being worth a tenner a month.

the Company plans to roll out new "resume play" and “watch list” features across WWE Network media platforms by the end of December.

Hopefully we see a re-vamped video player on the website.

There's too much free (& poor) programming. Even if you take this place as an indication people just about get through Raw and have had their Wrestling fill.

It hasn't been the best year of WWE programming and they lack a lot of goodwill among fans too.

An extract from PWInsider's coverage of the conference call:
He was asked about why people churn, and someone finally said is it due to creative? George said the average monthly churn is in the 8% range. They felt that 4 to 8% was the steady churn level, so they feel it’s OK to be where they are. He said he has read that Netflix had higher churn when they started. He ignored creative altogether and Vince didn’t comment.

They'll announce a launch date BY November 1st was the verbiage used.

We were not going to get Canadian version of WWE Network anyway before the delay, since the price details got out on App Store on iOS to pay for WWE Network in advance. I think Sky maybe wanted some influence over the WWE Network hence why the delay of WWE Network, but that is no longer the case.

Is there option now to cancel my subsciption or do cancel it through Paypal?

    Cancel now, free November.

    Mental marketing.

    You can't. IF you've signed up to the 6 month commitment the mail states;

There is no action is required on your part. On your billing date in December, your WWE Network subscription will automatically convert to a no commitment account and will continue uninterrupted for $9.99 per month, plus applicable taxes.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the OTT version AND a linear channel option on Sky.

I'd say something related to the network cropping up on sky is a good shout. It amazing at times how much time they allocate to WWE programme they might as well make a WWE channel.

It is good that there are getting rid of 6-month commitment rule since a person might lose or have their card stolen at any time.

ya they already have a wwe section on the sky sports on demand page , full of slam city and raw bites and last week's raw and smack down , I can see the odd few ppvs from the last few years been thrown into the mix

I can't wait to hear Bryan and Dave's take on all of this.

Not on Playstation yet, although we all have the app. Presume it'll just work away.

rovert's screenshot talking about the availability of the network in UK, explicitly states US$9.99 from December.

I thought I read somewhere that the price was gonna be <local currency>9.99

Was that just speculation? Or is the US$ a typo/oversight?

It's $9.99 worldwide for the OTT version. Everywhere except Canada gets it at the dollar price.

What happened to the first 13 episodes of Nitro? Also any word on WCW Saturday Night being added?

Network is yet to launch there.

Network is yet to launch in a good few places. Anywhere that they've recently negotiated TV deals are currently without the network (Germany, Saudi Arabia etc...)

So it's going to work out at around 8euro a month?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,224 ✭✭✭The Ayatolla

700,000+ subscribers within a year isn't so bad. Should creep up a bit now too with the no commitment thing, that'd put a few people off.

Be interesting to see how it goes once they've launched completely worldwide and available on all digital platforms and smart TV's.

For what it's worth wrestlezone have reported 3/11 in the UK for the site and the 18th for apps on PS and Xbox.

I would've thought the removal of the six month commitment will make the number much more volatile. People can pop in for 'Mania, the Rumble, etc and then not bother for months with B PPV's or weak line ups.

I'm wondering that aswell. If I download it onto my phone and log in as I've been doing will it just work away.

That $9.99 campaign really wasn't a very good idea, considering the future potential need for a price increase.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,395 ✭✭✭ShagNastii

Haha it's something you wouldn't even think of.

From the smirky $9.99 delivered by Hunter- to an embarrassed said under his breath $13.50.

    Still there on mine anyway.

They must have thought they would get 5million subs or something. They can't really increase prices as I expect most subscribers would know how to get the ppvs for free so they are only really paying for convenience and access to the library/special shows. But they are not really worth much more.

I will sign up myself next week, held off to see what they would offer us as a network

Go to the "year" drop down menu, select 1995 and there they are at the bottom. That one also got me at first.
