Don't know where else to ask this but, were there any pre-show matches from before the Network launched that were particularly good and worth seeking out?

If I remember right, Shield vs Uso's was a very good match. Can't quite remember the PPV, it was from 2013 anyway. Maybe Money in the Bank?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 109 ✭✭JrdanB

Yeah, Shield vs USO at Money In The Bank is probably the best Pre-Show match so far - The WeeLC match from Extreme Rules was on the network, but was surprisingly good.

Another non-network one to check out is the Rhodes Brothers Vs N.A.O from last years rumble, It was ok, but nothing special

Got an email with the subject line Action required! Lock in $9.99 per month with no commitment when you renew today. My six month sub is up soon I guess but the "lock in" bit is weird, makes it seem like a price hike is coming.

What are people with US accounts doing? Did you cancel and get Feb for free or are you just leaving it and auto-renewing?

I just let it rewew. Too much hassle now cancelling and re-signing up for the sake of 7euro-ish.

This. Have been signed up since Survivor Series to the US account and couldn't be bothered going through the hassle of cancelling and re subbing. Holding out till the RAW after Wrestlemania and will reassess my interest then.

Could this be an unintentional play on words a la, "lock in a submission hold"?

Been watching the Monday Night War series, have had very few streaming issues with it. I'm using a Roku 3 box to watch it.

A bit off topic, but would you reccomend the Roku 3 in general? How's it to navigate the network (like is it the same as the console version of the Network app?)

Where do I find this Shield doc that people were on about a while back?

It's actually called "Journey to SummerSlam" with the subtext of "Destruction of the Shield", which just makes loads of sense. It doesn't come up in search when you type in Shield or Destruction :P

    It's a cracker.

Sure it has been mentioned but I'm infinitely impressed by all the original stuff on the network. They have been my go to's. Monday Night War, Countdown, Legends of Wrestlemania and Legends House.

Really fun shows. Hopefully there are more specials planned.

So I am watching an episode of Main Event here that is dated as having aired yesterday. I'm not watching it on the Network, but I am assuming it's there. I found it on this site so I said I might as well just continue watching it here. Does anyone know, has an agreement about the future of this show been reached? I guess so since it was gone there briefly.

Just saw an article about the differences between the Network version and the Blu-Ray:

Do you not find the documentaries repetitive and all from the same head/talking points though?

Some of the originally produced documentaries they put out on DVD are ok. With a lot of these Network shows, they are edited together from interviews a few years old and you're mainly getting soundbites.

The Bret vs Owen episode of Mania Rewind apparently has a different edit of match using different camera angles such as the overhead shot they used for the ladder match.

I think people overstate the over use of interviews and talking head we've seen before. OK OK we've all seen THAT Bischoff one but that is nearly the only standout.

As a pure WCW mark I loved the fresh WCW stuff for the Monday Night War. Vince ego didn't get the better if him and the painted WCW as the massive deal it was.

I think Monday Night Wars is awful and hugely revisionist.

I only have the Roku a week but I find it ok. The Roku version of the app is probably the least polished of the versions I've seen (Xbox and Apple TV) but that's purely in terms of the UI colouring and layout. Navigating the content and playing it is absolutely fine, no problems at all.

performance of the network seems to have increased alot over past week, the lagfest seems fixed, I haven't seen a lag stutter in about 5 days! The first 2 weeks were very laggy but with my first 6 weeks of WWE Network all for free I can't complain!

Bizarre use of the network here: http://www.wwe.com/inside/paul-heyman-brian-williams-wwe-network-feb-6-2015-27075408

Heyman cut a promo about some NBC tosser who lied about being in a helicopter that was shot at with a grenade in Iraq. It's a bit of a big deal in the States atm.

Brian Williams is the biggest news anchor in a America it's a huge story.

But you are right it's very bizzare that the WWE would news flash it. I guess it's Vince trying to gain some main street press. Jumping on the band wagon.

WWE shaming someone for lying on television is all kinds of wrong.

would totally recommend the roku 3, great piece of hardware not only for wwe network but netflix, amazon prime, nba tv, ufv fight pass among others.

They didn't shame him. If anything Heyman glorified the art of lying.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,272 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

I think with the Heyman thing on Brian Williams it's the WWE trying make the Network look relevant and gain main street press.

By using Twitter, Facebook the App etc etc to promote "News Flash's" and "Breaking News" on the Network is to try and get people to join for 9.99 or in our case 12.99 to find out what "News Flash's" and "Breaking News" is and that the Network isn't just a video library.

With the studio they have in Titan Towers now could they not do more in house content? A reboot of Tuesday night Titans would be good or a weekly interview segment

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,503 ✭✭✭brianregan09

Watched Thy Kingdom Come last night , I'm sort of dissapointed they didn't go more into Triple H's feuds when he was champion all that length DX got most of the coverage which is stuff i've mostly seen before anyway

They could but all the creative energy goes on the TV shows. It is very very hard work writing three hours of
    Raw and two of Smackdown!

The in-studio Raw seemed to get positive reviews. I think Ryan Ward the NXT guy wrote some of it, not sure if he usually works on Raw.
