How to get a flat stomach? (can't shift stomach fat!)

    Hi guys :)

I'm currently on a diet trying to lose weight as in the last year I went up a stone(I did lose some in the summer because I could go outside loads and it was warm but now I'm back to school and it's dark at like 5,I don't have that much time to exercise.. oh and I ate all the stuff I was off..I lost half a stone and was so proud of myself and I'm so annoyed with myself that I lost my willpower as soon as September arrived because I was nearly at my goal weight of losing a stone and had only half a stone more to lose!) and I am short so it's not my ideal weight! I'm 18(well,19 next week!) and up until I was 15/16 I could eat what I wanted and not put on weight!

My big problem is my stomach, a lot of my body weight is stored there. I don't really have much curves and any weight gain is largely distributed to my stomach. However, even when I was fairly slim it was still a problem area for me(so possibly genetic, I guess) It's always been flabby!

I'm going to start a combination of sit ups/crunches/push ups however I know you cannot spot reduce and I have read that even if I do these ab exercises the layer of fat will still sit on top of the stomach and I will only be toning my abs..

So..what can I do to get the layer of fat removed from my stomach and get a flat one? (2014 summer resolution, haha :P )

    Thanks in advance! :D:)

Pretty much all down to diet.

What do you eat on a daily basis? Do you do any other exercise?

    Breakfast:

    Porridge(sometimes Weetabix)

    Dinner:

Chicken(or salmon, varies a bit) with broccoli (or carrots)

    Tea/Supper:

    Rice Cakes

I have been drinking green tea aswell as people have told me it's brilliant for weight loss too

I've been doing this since 2nd January..before my diet was very bad and I guess the stomach problem may be caused as a result of my love of butter and cheese (lots on cream crackers and toast - I would generally gorge on these at evenings/late at night. I would sometimes eat chocolate instead (very bad I know!) However,I know this must definitely contribute to my body fat and flab on my stomach so I'm cutting it out for 21 days(at least - a plan I read about on the paper, as the article stated it took 21 days to break a habbit )

that's an awful diet imo, sounds like very low calorie, predominantly carbs with no essential fats.
you would lose weight, at least until your metabolism slows down, but unlikely to lose any body fat.

post #16 inn this thread is definitely worth a read

Losing bodyfat requires a calorie deficit.

Have you worked out how many calories you should be eating?
