    53 (-4)

    Moved up overall
    won my cup match
    won my cash H2H match
made up some ground on some people ahead of me in most of my money leagues

I guess that counts as a good week, although it didn't feel like it prior to update :D

59 (-4). Back in the top 10k. Didn't lose too much ground on my rivals despite a hit for cash purposes. So it goes down as a good week.
Although, I chickened out getting Sagna in for Dawson this morning for another hit...

It would have been a long term investment. Had Chester and Dawson on the bench. So Sagna would have "only" come in for Gabbidon ... and the problem is I was fancying the latter to keep a CS. Regret it now (it seemed to be written that Arsenal were gonna keep a CS today and the assist was an added bonus) as I'm kind of obliged to take a hit or wildcard this week. I can't afford any price drops from my players and too many price rises for the ones I wish to get.

Really really dislike the Christmas period no matter how I perform. Not only you have to behave kind of like a "no life" to perform (:D:rolleyes:) but price changes going crazy can really mess your team and your plan up...

49 with no hits this week, moved up about 3k places.

If you find yourself between 10k and 50k globally 1pt is worth about 950 places currently, making the average for players in that band this week around the 46 mark.

A poor 48 this week, i was a bit concerned about this but still managed a green arrow of 500 places so not so bad afterall.

After a horror showing which has seen pretty much everything go wrong, I'm finally pulling out of my FPL nosedive.

Since gw 16, I have had Dawson, Koscielny, Gerrard, Brady, Aguero, Ramsey, Ozil, Silva and Jagielka either injured or suspended. Bannan is also dropped. I had a few more injuries before that too. To add salt to the wounds, some of the players similar to this crowd have run riot (Yaya, Metersacker, Coleman).

I've plummeted from 50k to 200k in a few weeks. The toughest period I have ever had to face as an FPL manager.

But hopefully that's done. I took a number of hits to clear out those affected. I'm currently sitting outside the 100k placing I am happy with at the start of the new year but I am happy with my team. I have Yaya, Hazard, Mertesacker, Wallcott, Suarez, Silva and a decent defence. Most of my players will rise in value and I have everyone barring Bannan playing each week (Barry fcuking Bannan, what was I thinking!). I've also a beautiful differential in Jay Rodruigez - when you're 80 behind your leader, you need to get a few of these.

I can let my opponents use their wildcards and save mine until some of the top names return (Aguero, Ramsey, even RVP).

So if anyone is in the middle of a sh!t patch of form, my advice is simple - just be patient as it will eventually come to an end. Make long term transfers that make sense to add to your team and eventually you'll pull through. Take the hits you feel are needed. Making a single transfer each week when you have 3 injuries to key players means you'll always be trying to stop leaks with your transfers instead of making transfers you actually WANT to do.

Next target - get back to 100k.

I could have written this myself, because I've done pretty much exactly the same trek. I was just outside 50k before the GW when Suarez ran riot against Spurs (didn't have him captain) and a few other key players damaged me, which knocked me back into the hundreds. My team needed a lot of work because of injuries so I took a 16-point hit which killed my score the following GW despite a good showing, knocking me back to 200k.

Following my 60 points yesterday I'm now at 102,361 with my top 50 place back in my sights. I actually now think that the 16 point hit, despite the short term damage, has benefitted me long term.

Yah I took a 16-pointer too and pulled me out of a complete disaster. It broke even (barring 1 point) and pulled in players that actually played. My current midfield is Silva - Walcott - Yaya - Hazard and i can relax about my transfer this gw as I have only Bannan to worry about.

58 points this week, great score! I've risen 102k places up to 590,000.. I'm slowly but surely crawling my way back from the disaster sequence that saw me hit 1.3million...

    Two disappointments this week:
    • Not captaining Walcott like I wanted to
    • Negredo coming off early

Hopefully bringing in Podolski instead of Dzeko works out in the long term :D

Agree 100% I started the season ok and was top 80k up to September where I then plummeted to 600k+ and well out of contention in mini leagues. But ever since making some decent moves last few GWs before anyone brought them in, ie Walcott and Eriksen I've jumped back into 260k and things are looking ok again. Marathon not a sprint as they say..

there shouldn't be a 2nd wildcard, makes a bit of a mockery of the game in my opinion.

    Ended up with 65 (-4)

Rose about 60k places to 171K

Green arrows in all but one of my leagues so I'm happy with that. Just want to stay the course now and break into the top 100k.

Why was Zabaleta not given an assist?

47 points after the 4 point hit. Made the mistake of transferring Oscar out just before he ran riot but I feel more comfortable having Hazard in my team. Through in the cup by 4 points and moved up 15k places in the world rankings to 332k so not all doom and gloom.
