    It's not about the luxury of it, it's about the relative comfort and proximity to the action.

    If there was a special needs platform beside it as you say..then that's fine...nothing to see here. (Not without a lavish platform anyway)

    I think it is important for the city to provide areas like this at high profile events.
    It attracted national media attention and certainly out shone Limericks effort.

    I'm fairly sure at all these events there are stands for the organisers, the mayor, councillors and so on including a stand for those with special needs? Those stands are at St. Patrick's Day too, for example.

    there was no public toilets on the quay either!
    jordans had to shut the front door!

    It was a 30min event with no food or drink served. Installing toilets would have been a bit excessive don't you think?. I've never seen a toilet at any Sproai parade or firework.

    Jordans always shut the front door when there's crowds on the Quay side door entrance manned to control numbers.
