What about Muramasa?
The art is by Ghibli and the music by Joe Hisashi but that is all they contributed. As far as gameplay it's pretty much a combination of all the problems the JRPG genre had... in the 90's. The story is really bad as well, penned by Hino of Level 5 an not Ghibli.
Muramasa is good fun. It gets repetetive so play it in short bursts but it's a gorgeous looking game.
