I wouldn't say :pac: is sarcasm as such. I would use it to mean anything that is said a little tongue in cheek, or where humour is implied.

As mentioned :pac: means you're taking the piss.

However, when quoting a post from someone you're arguing with and you only respond with :pac: it's means "You're so hilariously stupid I'm not going to bother responding, lol".

If you respond with just :pac: while quoting someone you're not arguing with it's more of a "I see what you did there! lol" message.


In fact you could probably simply say that :pac: is the trollface of Boards.

I thought :pac: was for making a joke. Whereas, was isn't this hilarious or isn't life great. I use for just happy or to be friendly.

In my own way, I absolutely detest smilies :mad: :pac:, and I resisted using them for as long as I could. But, when communicating in relatively short messages, especially with people you don't know that well, sometimes they're the handiest way to convey tone.
