6:36 in Mile 21? Did you get an EPO injection there?? :D

    Thanks P.

That's the mile where that lunatic Bulmers74 chased me down the street!

I paid for it by almost blowing up towards the end.

Fab report and fab race. First thing I did when I finished my run today was to check my phone and boards and I was so happy when I saw that you did the business today.
That time'll just come down and down and down:)

    Thanks O, appreciate it.

Support has been fantastic for the last few months.

Great Run today TBL and super report.....although I thought you would be off celebrating and we wouldn't see this for a couple of days. I saw your time earlier today and thought to myself how lucky I was that I didn't accept your invitation to join you as you would have left me in your dust but having read your report I am sorry I didn't join you as you probably would have carried me with your energy and enthusiasm....or at a minimum I would have been able to draft off you all the way around:) Keep up the good work and the excellent and entertaining log!

Yes, SfM, I think so, he either did 3.12 or 3.13.

    Marthastew ran a 3.12

    RayCun a sub 3

Cheers FBOT, you Ferris and I should enter an OAP team in the next relay marathon!

I was on a short lease today and had to head straight home, told the missus I'd run a sub 3.10 (might as well have told her I'd run a 2.15), she told me to hurry the fock up and light the BBQ coz the kids were starving!

I'm sure if you had run today that you'd have blasted it. I definitely could do with dropping a few pounds as around the 3.15 pacing group I looked like a sumo wrestler that had just crashed a supermodels apple & celery party :)

Nice report TbL - looks like it was almost easy for you out there looking at those splits.
I can't help but notice that you deflect quite a bit of the credit for that performance onto the great support you had today, while I'm sure it was fantastic and obviously a great help - you still had to kick the legs and feel the pain!
That kind of stuff is super motivating for some of us out here on the world wide web - well done and thanks for sharing it.

    Thanks for asking Sam.
Myself and Marthastew left the pace group at 17 miles and tried to pick it up a bit. Felt the pressure the last few miles but I crossed the line in 3:12:32 chip time with Martha close behind. Very happy with that.
It was absolutely lovely to meet Ms today and enjoyed her company throughout. Mr. stew wins the supporters prize hands down. Met herself and a few other Boardsies in the pub this evening but couldn't hang around long as I had a few more to meet up town. As you can see I'm a lightweight and am back home before closing time.
    Lovely day all round.

    But thanks for the invite.

Hey that mile was all downhill into town, 'twas always going to be your fastest anyway! Thank God you got 4 seconds under otherwise you'd be blaming the mentaler! Well done again, sorry we didn't meet up

Well done man - super running yesterday. Delighted you got under the 3:10 mark. Keep up the good work.
I definitely could do with dropping a few pounds as around the 3.15 pacing group I looked like a sumo wrestler that had just crashed a supermodels apple & celery party :)

This....this had me laughing all day. I was grocery shopping with the gf earlier and I threw a few lemons into the basket and at that moment she appeared with carrots in one hand and celery in the other. I nearly wet the floor, I laughed so much. Not quite apples and celery, but close enough. I had to tell her the story!

Am back in London for a few days, near Gatwick. The nice manor hotel I stayed in previously was full, so staying in a hotel at the airport. Haven't stayed here before and don't know the lay of the land so used the small gym to do a couple of very easy miles on the treadmill. I'll try and get some more easy miles in outside tomorrow. Legs felt surprisingly good.

Although chomping at the bit to get stuck in and leverage off yesterday's result, I'll take it easy for the next few days. Thereafter I'm hoping to start a structured training program to help me get closer to the goal of a sub 3. Next phase is Amsterdam and a 3.04/05.

I'm also setting myself a couple of mini goals over the summer:

    5k sub 19
    10 sub 39
    10 & HM (TBD)

I also want to lose at least a stone, but don't worry I won't be posting what I had for breakfast or a running total of my weight loss!

I probably put too much crap here already and I don't want it to turn into a Loggers Bog :)

Still buzzin today, thanks all for the encouragement & kind words.

Well done TbL, you were in flying form on the day!

Haven't run since the few miles on the treadmill last Tuesday.

I had great intentions of going out on Wednesday but once I got back to the hotel room I kept changing my mind, I was going out then I wasn't, I changed in and out of the gear more times than a stripper on a double shift, before finally deciding to can it.

Did 3 easy miles in the pelting rain tonight.

Need to get back into a routine and hoping to do 5/6 tomorrow with 10/12 on Sunday.

    Absolutely miserable evening in Connemara.

More like a winters evening than the second week of Summer.

Did 5.5 easy miles in gusting winds and driving rain.

Hope the weather improves for anyone racing tomorrow.

Was advised to dial back the planned 10-12 miler tomorrow and given this weather happy enough to take it and do a max of 8 miles tomorrow.

I was thinking 10 - 12 was a lot tomorrow cause I'm only doing 5 but then I thought maybe I'm just taking the recovery a bit too seriously :D
