The "remote" is part of a Bosch Nyon
Nyon is an ebike controller, navigation device and fitness trainer all in one and at the same time provides smartphone features and music control.
I'd imagine the kickstand, bells and whistles are a safety requirement imposed at the point of sale by Angela Merkel. You'd probably get free junk pedals too.
Without all that crap attached, and cruising along at 45Kph, its starting to look more attractive now....

I was working on a college campus today and a noticeboard had some bike adverts up, one with photos of something so hideous it had underlined and in bold "NOT A FOLDING BIKE" beneath to confirm it was just pure monster. My phone was dead otherwise I'd have taken a lot of pleasure in posting it here.

Strange video there, boasting about doing 20 kph with 100 calories burned and 45 km range remaining, all a lot less than a regular bike. I mean on those roads and that scenery would you not feel like a bit of an ass using a motor?

    Pretty bloody ugly...

Bad tape wrap job, it hasn't covered the hand entirely.

I broke a metacarpal and scaphoid.

I reckon i might get some lizard skins over the already grubby white stuff they gave me in the hospital...

Jesus Dave ouch :( You ok?

ETA Just seen your post there. Ouch again.

Might I suggest a few colours of bar tape for the wrapping. In a harlequin method?!

Ha ha you should have a cast painting party! (You could have one every week in case you get sick of the view :p)

Is a knitting needle any good to you for the itch or is it too sore?

Presumably caused by a fall off the bike Dave? Here's wishing you a speedy recovery - seeing that just reminded me it was 5 years ago last Friday that I broke my wrist falling on ice - at least I had the use of all my fingers and they put on a fibreglass cast which allowed me to get on the turbo after a week or so

Fibreglass doesn't itch. If thats not your permanent cast request a change to fibreglass if you go back.

Surely carbon fibre is lighter than fibre glass?
    hope it heals soon dave

A horrifying configuration of thumb shifters, interrupter levers and non-STI brake levers. Kickstand included. The workings of a raving lunatic.

Or of someone who is petrified of cycling.
