That programme got bogged down in the arguments surrounding the legal case against Sony and never really recovered afterwards, not unlike George's career.

It was OK, in fairness it was cobbled together after George died while making it.

    Hello,
This Weekend sees new-ish Punk documentary on Sky Arts (one that is years old but hasn't been on Television before). Nile Rodgers gets to the end of this BBC4 thing while also appearing on George Michael's programme. Thanks again Skid for the great work. Looks as though BBC 4 have really let things slip and Sky have taken up the slack.

Documentary on Mick Ronson could be good. Quality guitarist.

I'm glad I seen this post, I wasn't familiar with XTC when I read it and then checked them on Spotify..

I noticed the song making plans for Nigel, I heard that for the first time a few weeks ago and I remember thinking 'how have I never heard this before', so all today I've been on am XTC binge since.. some cracking songs and it's mental to think i never heard of this band before when they're exactly my style of music!

Good God, you're making me feel bloody old ! XTC had some stonking tunes. It would be hard to find a better more pure joyous pop song than Mayor of Simpleton, as just one example.

I see a list of '10 must see music documentaries on Netflix' written in August this year which looks decent

    https://www.rte.ie/culture/2017/0814/897251-10-music-documentaries-recommended-on-netflix/

I'm not certain if they are all still available but well worth investigating if you have access to that site.

What brought to that page was another article by the same writer, Jason Duffy of RTE, about Whipping Boy https://www.rte.ie/culture/2017/0626/885611-are-whipping-boy-the/

I stumbled on this old Whipping Boy appearance on Later With Jools from 1995. This was from a French TV Broadcast, bizarrely there's a video online from the same performance from a Portugese Station.

They were a terrific band, I remember seeing doing a fine set on one of their reunions some years ago. Must have been great to see them in their heyday.

    Also,

I've just seen an ad for Fab Vinny on RTE1, Tuesday at 7pm. Nice.
