Dublin Bike is a good thought. And there's a station for the bikes on the northeast corner of Merrion Square, just by the hospital.
On the other hand, in the spirit of austerity shouldn't you simply give the new mother a crossbar to the hospital, muttering "Push, little mother, push" into her ear as you cycle?
Or you could invest in a foldy Brompton and fold it and wheel it in and park it in a corner of the labour ward.

Actually that's not the case there at all. They actively promote natural births there.

Is there any hospital that doesn't?
A previous report from the Consumer Guide to Maternity Services in Ireland, published in May, found that almost one in every three first-time mothers underwent C-sections.

The survey said St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny had the highest rate of C-sections among first-time mothers at 43%, followed by the private Mount Carmel Hospital in Dublin (36.1%).
