We bought a pallet load of these back when safe's became compulsary, great solid construction, we gave £120stg for them.

Buffalo river are a decent brand, and not too expensive. They can be gotten in multiple dimensions, and have adequate padding to protect the guns.

I bought a large infac , its extra deep for scoped guns and the steel seems to be a bit heavier than some others i looked at. Some i looked at were pathetic, really thin steel, almost like lockers in a sports club or something.

My experience is buy big .. If you've 4 guns buy bigger than a four gun safe :( they are tiny and you'll end up marking or having to turn one gun upside down

I recently bought another safe for rifles only. Its a Vogue extra deep 4 gun one. Dont bother wasting your money. It barely holds my 2 rifles and once I had it attached to the wall it must have warped or something because the door was very sticky and could barely open or close it. Had to grind a bit off the top. Im a fitter by trade so I didnt install it ar$eways or anything. Very disappointed with it.

The buffalo river one I have is very good and I would highly recommend it.

I don't know if the RoI has the same standards of manufacturing requirements as the UK, where we have the BSI Kite-mark as well as ISO9000 compliance as well as the Home Office security furniture standards to show that the product is fit for use. ALL of the Bratton gun-safes meet or exceed these standards. Most of us here who do not have gun-rooms have Bratton products - I have three.

Just make sure that whatever version you end up buying is deep enough to take scoped rifles - if that is what you have to store.

I will second that. When the design a 4 gun safe, they must mean shotguns and skinny ones at that. Definitely go one or two guns larger than what you actually need.

Any way you never know when you will decide to go for another toy.

This might sound cheeky, it might sound bold, it might sound irresponsible but goddamn it it's simple, cheap and effective...

Under your mattress. Yes, I know, but, who is gonna think to look there? Nobody. It's no obvious that it wouldn't be thought of. Your guns would be safe and close to you with easy access as you sleep.

It would be illegal, He needs a safe for a rifle and he has four firearms so there is no question about it at all. Plus burglars might not look for firearms under the mattress but the will look for money there.
