IIRC it only lasts the month - the same as your mins and/or texts.

Someone told me that if you don't use all of the 5GB and are not on the auto topup for the 5GB add on when you top up and then manually add the 5GB add on the balance from the last month is added to the new 5GB!!

Their data speeds are so slow it'd take you the entire month to download a 5gb file.

I have to disagree, I came from Vodafone and while not as fast for sure so far I am VERY happy with Tesco Mobile and their speeds. Google Play Music all access never misses a beat and I can browse as before on Vodafone. As well as this the speeds will soon be increased from what I have heard.

Maybe they've improved then. I was with them a year or so back as it was insanely cheap, but I was never really getting more than 0.5mb down.

Oh no mate, way way more than that now. I must actually do a proper spped test! I believe it's currently capped at 2MB.

Edit: 2.21Mbps download and 1.18Mbps upload according to Speedtest app and that is with H in the signal bars. I will try later when I'm in an area with H+

    Yep.

I'm on the 10Euro - 12 months contract and am seeing the same R icon in my Galaxy S2.

Is it okay to switch Data while roaming on? Will there be extra charge?

Also, anyone knows if I can limit it so that I cannot exced the 10Euro, to avoid any extra charges.
    TIA

The R is always there because Tesco use O2's network and the phone detects this as roaming.

You can limit the data usage in Android via Settings->Data Usage

Cheers, I just wasnt sure if there is a charge for national Roaming.
The tricky part might be if you travel abroad (or cross to the North) and Roaming kicks in. I presume that it'll incure charges then.

I have been abroad and the roaming has been turned on and I did not get charged nor did I have any access, it just would not work!? I'm confused but I had WiFi where I was most of the time so no biggie.....
