FP uploaded the pic of the Golf, not me :P

I meant the Corolla btw. Still cheap to some people I suppose (not me..) but I'm more interested in the fact that it is probably just someone's daily driver with zero interested in the classic status

I wonder how many are still on the go... Or hiding in someones garden... :D

The Garda van taking the corner at :52 is class :D

Its crazy how so little has changed in the area in that time too. Certainly the first thirty seconds are very much identical to as they are today

Wow that place looks seriously grim. I'm tempted to have a tea with brown sauce to cheer myself up after watching that

In 1984 the camera to use would hardly have been conspicuous..

    Dem Renault 5s

Saw a white 3 door Fiat Uno on the way home there of unknown year. It was very clean. At least very white. :pac:

Can anyone make out the Reg. of the green Imp at 1.40? I bought one exactly like it in 1986 from a trainee manager in Dunne's Stores. He had been transferred to Cavan and was finding the trip home and back a bit "buzzy" with the Imp's all action 875cc :D
He bought a Mazda 323, the luxury!

Nice spot, there's an 88 estate around here but I can never get a pic, 88 WX450 I heard it's a one owner car.

Is it a van? The side windows look green on it. 70s 80s ugly time for cars tho the 127 looks well.

You would nearly think the left rear window was painted or replaced, right enough.
The van version was called the Husky, and had a very high roofline indeed.
You were allegedly able to wear a Top Hat in a Husky without it hitting the roof!

No, the Estate version was called the Hillman Husky. The van version was the Commer Imp Van. The van and the Husky used the same body shell

I can't remember a time when those cars weren't there.

I spoke to Mr Fabio in the past about my Tipo, hes a great guy

Any time I go to Fabio's (it's a half hour drive away) they've been there.
I'm dreaming of meatballs now :(

    I would love to

Body looks straight how bad could it be as long as it's not rusting underneath. Mechanically it be so easy to work on I could think of worse cars to rescue.

Body is very straight on both sides, looks like it would come up lovely with a polish. Theres a big chunk gone from the driver's seat bolster so the mileage is probably high enough on it. Chain and lock on the steering wheel so someone is keen on hanging onto it no doubt.

Was last tested in 2010. Its a shame we don't have a system like in the UK where you can check a car's test history online

I wonder has someone recently purchased it as a project or something it don't look like it's sitting there for the past 6 or seven year??

There are photos of it sitting in the same spot over in the classic cars forum from 2011. Also my photos don't really show it but the ground around it really does indicate that it has been there for a while.

Also the owner hasn't yet declared it a "classic" to the motor tax office..so its still on the standard 1.6 / €514 annual motor tax rates
