    Your photos don't display.

While I find your post mildly interesting, I am surprised you have little to do with your time.

As another reply advised - instead of looking into peoples drive-ways, you should keep your eyes on the road ahead.

If you came into my estate, my 1st instinct would b that you were casing the joint - & would probably report you to the Gardai - I certainly would report you if I saw you a 2nd time.

PS - U said the oldest car you saw was a GOLF MK3 - BUT U DIDN'T SAY WHAT YEAR IT WAS !

    saw a 1990 Sprinter - looked good

My Dad had an '88 white Sprinter. It was the most reliable car I ever drove but you could only use cassette tapes in it. Out of all the Toyota's, that make is seen around a lot still going strong, as in not a hobby car but an actual day to day one.

Gosh James, your Estate sounds delightful.
If you have so little interest in old cars, why worry about those that do?
By definition, a hobby is something you so in your spare time. So no need to wonder about those who seem to have different interests to you.

82 L fiat supermirafiori. Looked in good nick.

Gas to think the 1.3 was more powerful, and the 1.6 much more powerful, than the 1.4 golf and focus that were popular after 20 years of advances in technology.

Op was written over a year ago and closed the account, and you still reply, good job buddy 3/10 for effort

What do you do in your spare time yourself? I'd hazard a guess at not much if you have the time to come on here and make yourself look like a complete clown

Not old enough, and not classic enough either, but I never saw one of these MK3 polo estates before. Can't have been many sold?

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,074 ✭✭✭✭Duke O Smiley

Yeah there aren't many about but a few tipping about.

Kinda like the e11 Corolla estate too

On the Malahide road earlier. It was coming out from the industrial estate, I slowed down to let him out in front of me but he didn't go, had to throw my phone at my mate to get the pic then. 86 reg I think.

My dad had two X1/9s at one point. They were pretty slow but when you're 10 they're a supercar :)

    A Red 1976/77 Triumph Dolomite 1.3

Seemed to have been well restored and moved along nicely ahead of me. Looked like it had a low hanging back box that would come a cropper on a speed ramp

I win the thread. I saw a car the other day that was pushing 100 years old. Couldn't see the badge as it was in profile to me but it looked like a 1920's two seater convertible with a rumble seat - wooden spoked wheels as well.

One of these passed me this morning on the South City Link road. Same spec and colour as this pic. A Ford Popular that looked to be completely original - paintwork and number plate wise.

There was a beautiful burgundy Magnette race car on an old Irish plate at the Tour Britannia stage in the Wicklow mountains recently. It was a stunner
