I see a 1983 Mercedes on the M1 going to work some mornings, can't get a pic as I'm driving, but it looks in pretty good nick. It's this model, I think:

saw two oldies on my way in today: (I didn't take photos but I knew what they were, so these pics are compliments of google.... how do you guys always get your phones out so quick while driving!!? ... i'm always busy you know... not crashing.)

    Land rover series 1 (1948 - 1958)

190E Cosworth (I think this was it, definately that shape, but I actually thought the spoiler was bigger - that's the feature that caught my eye) not especially old but certainly noteworthy

Was it by any chance a 190e cosworth evo?

Gorgeous car. So unashamedly loutish and chavvy. I'd love to get one, slam it, gold badges and wheels. Am I a knacker?

I think he is referring to the old Irish plates. But its a 1983 car, so they legit I'd say. Though they do look a bit out of place.

    Looks very fresh for 1983

Actually. Its on cartell as 1988cc. I didn't think there was a 1988cc engine available on the 190?

    Today I saw the following

    77/78 era Toyota Corolla.

    Mk 1 Golfs x 3

    1983 BMW 520I (E28)

    1987 Carina II

    Some late 70s/early 80s Cortinas

    1990 Golf Mk 2 van

    87 to 92 era Corolla

    Austin Allegro

    Volvo 345

And lots more didn't get a chance to see them all - was helping man a stand at a show - and only had time for a couple of quick looks around the show.

    (Charleville Agricultural show)

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,855 ✭✭✭nd

haha, I saw 3 of the above cars in Charleville. If I thought there were old cars at the show I'd have gone down to it.

There was some trucks there too

And a number of dealers had stands there too - Nissan/Mazda (same dealer as you probably know), Skoda, Ford, Hyundai (Hyundais were represented by Kearys of Mallow) Toyota and Renault/Dacia.

Only got to have a proper look at Hyundai, Skoda, and VW due to lack of time.

Sat in a CC - lovely car - but it reinforced my dislike of Black interiors.

Ive now decided I don't like rear privacy glass with a black interior now as well .

Btw - word to the wise - rear visability is pants on the CC - even without privacy glass.

The Hyundai I sat into was an I40 - also with black leather - but it didn't seem so bad - difference between the 2 cars - the CC had privacy glass - the i40 didn't.

I don't like black interiors anyway though - they are fine with leather - just about - ideally need a glass sunroof to let some light in.

I do think though that if the Hyundai had privacy glass as well - or the CC didn't have it - the CC seems nicer inside definitely
