    there'a a taxi on the Gresham Rank usually it's a 1988 Camry I think

There are no Taxi's over 15 years old on Irish Roads.

In a year or so there will be nothing over 10 years old as any "Amnesty Taxi's" will reach 15 years old and their replacements will cease to be eligible as a taxi once they hit the 10 year mark.

I actually remember an old 84-D reg Merc W123 estate taxi in Dublin only about ten years ago, and an 85-D Accord

And ZG reg W126 with a Nissan diesel!

    Good days

Saw a very clean looking 96-D Audi A4 TDi (90 hp version) in Dublin 3 a couple nights ago. She was running really well judging by the sound and smell.

That Passat on the previous page brings back fond memories of the '91 2.0 GL I drove for years until '03. They were a very durable vehicle apart from soft valve guides and resulting plumes of smoke. Harold Engineering recon'd the head for me and she was a goer at the time. Very torquey and frugal.

As mentioned before I'm the proud owner of a 1997 Toyota Corolla.

Anyway, at some point in October 2016 it refused to start for me and winter got in the way and it just sat there since.

Decided I'd give it a service anyway and see what we could do with her. Lo and behold...

She lives!!! Drove it around the block and not a bother on it. Literally drives like the day it was parked up. It's an insane machine.

And on the road, so I can stick up a picture!

Reckon new tyres and brakes will get it through the NCT on February 26th.

    That would be something!

    That’s an early ZV, 1995ish I’d guess

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,923 ✭✭✭✭BonnieSituation

They really need to flip the ZV now and make it a suffix.

'95 Rover 100 in the Coombe. Daily driver - nobody will keep one as a classic, the rallying Metros have taken up all the interest in that family.

Today. Don’t see many of those MK2 Primeras around these days. There’s a 1996 one going around town. Back 20 years ago Thurles was flooded with them.

The whole country was full of them.

I saw a mark 1 in Bratislava in October. I would never have thought that they'd be so rare these days. Would love to get a hold of one.

Followed this briefly this evening. Know it to see locally, tidy 1 owner car & its diesel. It only lives about 1 km from the garage that sold it new, on the same stretch of road!

Is that Aldi car park? Often seen that car around town aswell. Those P11's were a great car... Donie Archie's sold some amount of them in the 90's alright. Then they undid all their good work with the P12.....

Donie Archie . That name brings back memories. My father used to do a good bit of work for him in the 80s and 90s. Is he still going?
