my life is forever changed! I've discovered how to make bernaise in a mug with an immersion blender! And it emulsified perfectly. Better than with any other technique I'd tried before.
    YAY!

Ps skipped the shallots because I had none & used freeze dried tarragon because it works out just fine with it. Success!

OMG! If this works, my life will be similarly unrecognisable.
It's my favourite steak sauce. Sometimes, when I in a shop wandering around getting a "quick" last-minute dinner, I bypass steak, thinking, I can't have it with Bernaise. Chimmichuru sauce, while quick, just not the same.
Disappointed I can't try this out until next week.

I got this as a gift from our farmer friend. Its a wild lamb, hung for 12 days. Very tender !. It was pretty small so I took the front and hind legs of for roasting and the rest will go into a nice lamb stew. First time ever butchering anything, other than a fish :)

Where would one get a lamb?
My folks love lamb and I would love to get them one for their freezer.

Folks - I deleted a couple of posts bordering on Food Safety, which should not be asked for, nor given in these forums. Please keep clear of such topics.

I made celeriac and apple slaw tonight and himself hated it. Pity, I think it's lovely and refreshing.
I have another 3/4 of the celeriac left and might make soup for tomorrow's lunch.

It makes really nice rosti - either with just apple or with a bit of potato as well :)

God I love food. Just popped some Cod into the oven. Mash is made along with mushy peas (first time making), Mrs Loire will be home in 10 mins and I've a Cotes du Rhone open!!

Myself and my boyfriend don't really go in for valentines day, I'm not working today so said I'd make pancakes for breakfast, told himself not to come in for a minute as I'd something planned. Think he was expecting a heart shaped one or something, not quite this :pac: I'm a true romantic :D

2014 has been insane so far, actually. There's tonnes of other great things that happened, so maybe it would be a good idea to try the lotto :D
